About Luau Lights
Luau Lights is a photo scavenger hunt played in teams. There is a list of 60 Christmas decorations, and each one has an assigned point value. Examples include Santa at the Manger for 40 points, or a 6’ inflatable reindeer for 10 points. When you find an item off the list you photograph and submit it. One member of your team must appear in the photograph holding or wearing a Hawaiian themed item. Examples include a lei, grass skirt, or pineapple. Your team can play from anywhere, via our app. The competition runs on the third Tuesday of December, from 6:30 PM to 9:00 PM CST. Registration is $25 per car. The team who obtains the highest number of points during the time frame wins. Prizes change each year.
Using the app you can track your points, and also keep an eye on the competition. The item list will automatically populate the night of the event, for teams who have registered and paid. The best part? This Christmas tradition brings hope and light to vulnerable children and families. Support orphan care while creating unique memories in a cheerful competition, all for less than a night at the movies!
This app was developed in support of Ohana Ministries. Ohana is a non-profit that creates intentional community and professional support systems for non-traditional families, like foster parents. The word “ohana” is Hawaiian, suggesting that family can be by choice, not just blood. To learn more about us visits our website: www.ohanaministries.org
