About OpenAccess Tours
Access to the arts is now easy and affordable. Activities like visiting the art gallery or museum with friends and family are social, sensory and ‘live’ experiences but thousands of Australians are missing out.
With this simple community app, audio guides – and even live performances - at cultural venues such as museums, art galleries, parks and zoos can be translated into access options for everyone – all on your own phone or tablet!
- Auslan translation
- Captioned audio
- Audio description
- Other languages
- Wayfinding with maps
- Live show interpretation
- Image recognition
- Bring your own device or use a venue-supplied device
- Feedback and share on social
- Bluetooth triggering, QR codes, geolocation
- Sound amplification
Available at a range of venues, including the National Sports Museum at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG), National Gallery of Victoria (NGV), Werribee Open Range Zoo, the Queensland Art Gallery of Modern Art (QAGOMA) and Sydney Town Hall. Check the Conexu Foundation website (http://www.conexu.com.au) for accessible venues near you.
Simply key in the number of the exhibit to play content in your preferred communication format, or scan the QR code at the exhibit.
“It is easy to use and people can switch to and from between Auslan and audio with captions at any time. Thank you to Conexu for creating a free app with high quality contents for all Deaf and hard of hearing people to fully benefit.”- Sophie Li
