About ParkZebra
With ever increasing volume of automobiles, most large cities in the world are overburdened with traffic congestion. Add to that the paucity of information that would alleviate parking headaches, and we have the daily struggle of drivers leading to excessive “driving around the block” to find a parking spot.. ParkZebra has been created with the vision to alleviate the pervasive problem of finding a “parking spot” in a large city for an automobile driver. In turn this will extend the various initiatives of the “connected” city by creating a PLATFORM that is valuable for a) Urban Planning Department of the City, b), Parking property owners, c) Automobile drivers, d) Navigation companies, e) Car manufacturers, f) Residents of the city, g) Visitors to the city, h) Conservationists of fuel and finally, i) The common man who dreams of a Cleaner World.
Following statistics indicate why addressing the parking problem could have a profound effect on a number of intimately linked systems:-
-25% to 30% of city traffic consists of drivers circling round the block/s looking for parking
-15 to 20 minutes is the average time spent hunting for parking, globally
-50% to 60% of the drivers give up on a desired destination due to the difficulty of finding parking
-Parking is often the second or third largest source of revenue in a city. But lack of real-time data on user demand and user behaviour makes it exceedingly difficult to manage and predict this revenue.
