How?

When a neighbor or health care worker needs something delivered from the community, they simply text or email the word "Pick-up" to a dedicated number. An alert goes to the network of volunteers near the pick-up location, and the person closest accepts and makes the delivery. Neighbors and health care workers connect with a network of Supporters who are nearby, motivated to accept the delivery and help.

There is no limit on the stuff Neighbors and health care workers would love to have delivered. Here are some examples:

- John's grandmother lives in Buffalo and was worried she had a fever. There were no thermometers in stores to order. John knew a principal at an elementary school in Buffalo and reached out to see if there were any extra thermometers. There were. John texted "Pick Up" to the dedicated number, and every Supporter near the school received the details: "Pick-up request. The item fits in a handbag. The drop off is 7 miles away. Pick up the item outside the school and drop off in the mailbox." Nicole was driving by the school when she received the alert. Nicole picked up the thermometer and dropped it off to John's grandmother. John was grateful because he lives in Atlanta.
- Julie grew up in a family of nurses and doctors. She wanted to support the ER, so she ordered 12 pizzas and meals from the local restaurant, but this shop did not have delivery drivers available. Julie texted Pick-up, and a Supporter picked up the order and dropped it off outside the hospital.
-Kristen bought a small microwave on Facebook Marketplace so her family could have frozen meals. They were all social distancing, so she put in a request for Pick-up, and someone who lived one mile away from the pick-up location picked up the microwave and dropped it off in Kristen's garage.
- Jimmy wanted to get an order for his family from the deli. He ordered over the phone, and then sent a request for delivery in case a supporter happened to be there or nearby. Kyle was there and picked up the order and dropped off to Jimmy and his family.
