About Sharp Chart 2020 LogMAR Chart
A letter chart app designed to be used via AirPlay to a large screen (TV or computer monitor). Use either an Apple TV connected to a TV, a cable, or use a TV with built-int AirPlay such as the latest Samsung or LG.
And now you can also run the app directly on an Apple TV, without the need for an iPhone or iPad!
Has everything you'd expect, including multiple optotypes (sloan, illiterate E, landolt C, pictorial, international sloan) and multiple Visual Acuity nomenclatures (metric, imperial, decimal and logMAR).
The basic letter chart is free. Larger letters, further optotypes, other charts require an in-app purchase.
The charts you'd expect are all here:
- cross-cylinder charts
- binocular vision such as a 4-dot test
- duochrome
- confusion lines around single letters or a single row
- low contrast
- single line, both horizontal and vertical
- and more
You can even import your own images and videos to create your own chart.
Configure a chart then save it as a shortcut with a simple drag-and-drop operation.
Use Dark Mode in iOS 13 and above for a dark consulting room.
Great for mobile workers, keep your chart on your iPhone and just take an Apple TV to connect to a television at your destination.

The randomisation of letters has been made less random, so that the same letter never appears in the same place, and letters in the line above or below never repeat in the same location. Despite being less random, this makes the charts look more random...

- Added two new gestures: two finger swipe up & two finger swipe down.
- Added two new gesture actions: move line up & move line down.
- If you set a gesture action to "move line up" (or down), which only works on the multiple line chart, then it will work as an enlarge / reduce action on the other charts.
- Also, if you move the line up (or down) too far, then the chart will change to the next larger / smaller chart (this also works for the Apple TV app).
I suggest changing the single swipe up / down to move the line up / down, and make the double finger swipe up / down the enlarge / reduce actions. This works really well.
There's also a brand new Settings screen if you're on iOS 16 or above.
- Added two new gesture actions: move line up & move line down.
- If you set a gesture action to "move line up" (or down), which only works on the multiple line chart, then it will work as an enlarge / reduce action on the other charts.
- Also, if you move the line up (or down) too far, then the chart will change to the next larger / smaller chart (this also works for the Apple TV app).
I suggest changing the single swipe up / down to move the line up / down, and make the double finger swipe up / down the enlarge / reduce actions. This works really well.
There's also a brand new Settings screen if you're on iOS 16 or above.

We've been working hard on updating this app and making it more reliable.
Specifically, the following is in this new versions:
- The app can remember multiple monitor / TV configurations, and will use the name of the TV or Apple TV to automatically switch between them. So if you use your app in multiple places, or have multiple screens in your consulting room, you can now switch between them without having to re-enter the configuration data.
- Added a large (3 line) step increase / decrease to the single line chart for quicker size changes. These actions can be assigned to gestures.
- Fixed video playback. No longer will starting the app with a video cause the video to keep playing forever in the background.
- Increased spacing in the display of the letter rows on screen to make them easier to tap.
- Added the option to sign up for a monthly or yearly subscription in addition to the lifetime subscription option that already existed.
