About SpiritFuji
SpiritFuji is the new, fun way to play a very old game. When you connect with a friend, the spirits will guide the hand of destiny (or a wine glass if you prefer!) to tell your fortune from the beyond. The App uses Game Center so it’s easy to find old or new friends and play a game anytime.
You can choose from three options. There is a board with letters and numbers to spell out a message using a pivoting "planchette". You can allow a glass to wander across a plain board writing the message. If you want, you can load a picture of your own to write on.
When you are playing you can turn on the chat function and share the fun with your friend wherever they are.
Just start the App, tap Connect to find friends and enjoy the game. There are easy to use settings to get the experience just right.
Fuji, or “planchette writing”, is an ancient Chinese process. The first written records are from the Liu Song Dynasty (420-479 CE). There have been many ways to implement the technique over the time since but it began with perforated trays of ink controlled with sticks. In the west, in the nineteenth century, “talking boards” became very popular. They used a pivoting “planchette” to spell words. There is a lot more history of Fuji in the App itself.
