About SVUH National Liver Guidelines

The National Liver Unit at St Vincent's University Hospital provides a hepatology consult service for the entire country. There is an hepatology consultant and registrar on call 24 hours a day, 7 days per week. We transplant approximately 60 patients per year. At present, we have an 18 bed unit to care for patients who are pre- and post-transplant, with fulminant hepatic failure, or variceal haemorrhage. We are also a tertiary referral centre for patients with hepatocellular carcinoma.

This app is designed to provide basic advice on initial investigations, diagnosis and management of the most common presentations of liver disease, and details on the referral pathways to have your patient reviewed. The liver team is still accessible 24 hours, 7 days a week.
We would greatly appreciate any feedback, as we continue to develop and improve on this app. Thank you!
