About TamilSlate

TamilSlate is a technically intuitive app that allows YOU to help your child practice their "Tamil" language writing skills.

We present this Tamil Learning App which help improving your child's writing skills by providing them with plenty of space to practice either with their finger, or with a stylus that works with the iPad. No more wasting paper or buying expensive writing books or real slates!

It includes
(i) Writing page for letter & word
(ii) Tamil Alphabet Song
(iii) Playmode
(iv) Email Mode
(v) Screenshot mode

Each letter is associated with a character and in each page you can touch the character. Tamil alphabet has a proper order, but to learn to write there is an alternative sequence so kids don't get frustrated.

Note: Tamil is a Dravidian language spoken predominantly by Tamil people of South India and North-east Sri Lanka. It has official status in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu and in the Indian union territory of Puducherry. Tamil is also a national language of Sri Lanka[7] and an official language of Singapore. It is one of the 22 scheduled languages of India and was declared a classical language by the government of India in 2004. Tamil is also spoken by significant minorities in Malaysia, USA and Mauritius as well as emigrant communities around the world.
