The Backyard is the first online community that’s built to bring together all those who love the backyard life. And there are more of us than ever before, because so many people are living in houses for the first time.
At The Backyard, we are connecting the totally clueless and the partially clueless with the fully clued in. Like with the best communities, something wonderful happens when the people who have the knowledge, get to share it – wherever they might live. Around the corner, or across the country.
The conversations at The Backyard are always fast and fun – rather than watching an endless video or wading through endless Internet content. We’re starting off with some recommended communities, but the fun really happens when you get you start your own.

In case you’re wondering, the people behind The Backyard are Scotts Miracle-Gro. Yes, the same people who’ve been makings backyard happy times possible for 150 years.
In fact, some people say we invented backyards. Well, we don’t know if we can go that far … but we can say that we’re the first to connect them.
