雪儿·海蒂(Shere Hite)是美国著名的性学专家。出生于1942年，美国佛罗里达大学历史学士及美国史学士，专攻社会科学与法学，曾在哥伦比亚大学攻读西方思想史博士，后因觉得自己所做的研究计划不被教授重视，念了两学期后即辍学。
　　1976年和1981年先后出版的大型性学研究报告——《女人篇》和《男人篇》在美国引起巨大轰动和强烈反响，并在世界范围内引起广泛关注，迄今已被译成18种文字。之后，海蒂的研究继续深入，先后出版《情爱篇》，《家庭篇》、《职场篇》、《海蒂篇》。至此、全套的、系统性的海蒂报告已全部出版，为世界性科学研究作出了不可磨灭的贡献。1987年。海蒂被《世界年鉴》评选为25位美国最有影响力的女性之一。
