重庆市合川区人民院始建于1932年，前身合川县救济院施医所，现已发展成为集医疗、教学、科研、预防、保健、急救于一体的国家三级甲等医院创建单位，是第三军医大学西南医院指导医院、重庆医科大学附属第一医院合川医院、重庆医科大学临床教学医院、重庆医科大学附属第二医院指导医院、重庆人文科技学院教学医院、合川区卫生人才培训基地。医院现有在岗职工1319余人，其中高级职称135人，中级职称256人，博士和硕士研究生104人，实际开放床位1300张。2015年门诊病人66.49万人次，出院病人4.11万人次。
