About 台灣畜犬協會KCT

台灣畜犬協會是國內唯一參加國際畜犬協會的團體。總部設在比利時的國際畜犬協會是一個以歐洲國家為主的國際性組織，加入這個團體必須以國家為單位，一個國家只承認一個協會，在台灣就是台灣畜犬協會。任何參加的協會都必須遵守它的規章，它的競賽方式以及它對血統的研究結果。

目前，受到全世界共同承認血統書的單位只有一個，就是世界畜犬協會。台灣畜犬協會成立之初即以參加這個世界組織為主要努力的目標，不論在比賽的層次上或者血統學理的研究上都以這個世界認同的標準為主。

畜犬愛好者不一定會因為血統的研究而改變自己對動物的態度，這是血統觀念普遍化的問題。這點，尤其以寵物為最。喜歡寵物，不一定要瞭解它在人類生活上的傳統利用價值，也不一定要鑽研它演化的過程。相對的，對寵物行為的研究在這樣的狀態中反而突顯出來。所以，一次有價值的犬賽它所能包含的意義非常重大，除了血統外還應該有健康、感情、清潔等等的推廣作用。
