Bio-Toolkit is a suite of tools for everyday reference of genetic nomenclature and amino acid profiles for use with iOS devices and now the Apple Watch!
For Students and professionals alike, Bio-Toolkit offers a handy tool to look up codons and their corresponding amino acids. It also offers a missense change significance calculator which estimates the likelihood of a proteins loss of function based on an algorithm that assesses structure, charge and molecular weight of amino acids. The app also offers offers DNA Wizard, a sequence parser which translates DNA to codon triplets and then to protein sequences which can easily be used as search criteria for the BLAST tool. Bio-Toolkit also offers easy access to various gene variation sites as well as the UCSC genome browser for a more convenient way to conduct gene research all in one app without the need to reach for a search engine or filter through web pages. Use the Apple Watch app to quickly reference Amino Acid structures and Lookup Codons.
