About Firefly for Teachers
The Firefly for Teachers app makes it easy for teachers to manage teaching admin on the go.
Starting with an overview of your day and any assignments ready for collections, you can quickly and easily plan your lessons, manage homework and provide marks and feedback. The integrated markbook ensures that you can track the progress of each class, and detailed task histories help you understand how best to support each student to help them go even further.
Firefly for Teachers lets you:
- View your timetable and manage your lesson plans, by day, week or by class
- Stay on top of all homework due and submitted by students
- Give feedback the way you want, using audio and video, photos, files and annotation within the app
- Work the way you want, moving seamlessly between the app and desktop
Log in once and you’re ready to go.
Note: The Firefly for Parents app requires your school to have an active Firefly licence.

The latest version of Firefly for Teachers fixed the following issues:
- Hyperlinks now work as expected, so teachers can link to files and Firefly pages when they set a task.
- Teachers are able to add files in the task responses screen again.

The latest Firefly for Teachers contains our most recent updates for the Firefly markbook. A new set of traffic light colour coding has been added to the markbook making it even easier for teachers to identify patterns and changes in a student's grades. Teachers can now spot at a glance where students are excelling and ready for extension work, or those students that are struggling and might need further support.

To save teachers time and provide them with better insights into their students, we have released our latest update to the Firefly markbook. This new version of the markbook gives teachers greater visibility of their class' homework. Selecting an entry in the markbook allows teachers to view all of the activity associated with that assignment; see the original task set alongside a student’s homework and the teacher's feedback and comments. The new Firefly markbook means it's now even easier for teachers to track their students' assignments with a single click.

We update the Firefly app regularly to enhance your experience. This latest version of the app allows teachers using the markbook more ways to list their students, making it easier for them to work in the way that best suits them. We have also fixed an issue that was causing the app to become unresponsive for some users.

Firefly for Teachers is now available on your iPhone! We know that teachers often get work and marking done on the go, so we've made this easier than ever by extending the Firefly for Teachers app to iPhones as well as iPads. You can now set tasks, mark and give feedback and annotate assignments straight from your mobile device. Due to space restraints, we recommend viewing the markbook either on an iPad or on the web.

Firefly knows that teachers need flexibility to adapt their teaching in the classroom. In this version of Firefly for Teachers, we've focused on adaptability and made it possible for teachers to view the app side by side with another app. Teachers can drag and drop information, files and text in and out of Firefly, so they can use the tools that work best for them without interruption.
We've also made it easier for teachers to view their markbook in the way that works best for them by adding the ability to sort students by first or surname. Finally, we've made several fixes, including making sure the number of unread responses is accurately depicted in the app.
