About Japan Architecture Map
This app is your best companion when taking a tour of contemporary Japanese architecture. The guide features over 13,000 sites and over 2,000 architects.
From the major works of architecture known by all to the most secret and secluded works by master builders, everything you want to know about contemporary Japanese architecture is here.
Whether you are an architecture fan, an architect, or a student of architecture, or specifically interested in Japanese architecture, this is the app for you. Also ideal if you are planning a trip to Japan and creating an itinerary of sights to see.
- Over 13,000 sites in the database. Focusing on contemporary art, with the work of everything from atelier-type units to larger design and architecture studios, all of Japan's most notable architecture is here.
- Each piece contains data on the designer, type of building, year built, address, and its recommended status. You can filter your search and navigate using a linked map application.
- Search sites by award status, such as pieces awarded by the Architectural Institute of Japan, pieces selected for DOCOMOMO, and pieces selected for Kumamoto Artpolis.
- You can save your favorite pieces, your visited status, and rate them. Use these tools when planning a trip or looking back on your travels.
- Contains over 2,000 architects. It contains the core members of each studio, their origin universities and studios, and web sites.
- We plan to add new pieces in future updates.

-Add List Function
It is now possible to create multiple lists and register Architecture for each List. Free users can only create 3 Lists. Paid users can be created indefinitely. An unlimited number of Architecture can be registered for one list.
The Favorites feature is replaced by the Lists feature.
Architecture that have already been registered as favorites are automatically registered in the List named "Favorites".
You can register to the List from the Architectures page.
Architectures registered in the Lists tab are displayed.
You can also delete the list and the Architecture registered in the List by swiping right from the List screen.

If you tap the map button at the top right of the Architect page, only the architecture designed by that architect will be displayed on the map.
For example, if you want to show only the architecture designed by Tadao Ando on the map, simply search for "Tadao Ando" from the "Architects" tab and then tap the map button.
If you tap the map button at the top right of the Architecture Work list, only the buildings in the displayed list will be displayed on the map.
Tap the X button on the right side of the navigation bar to return to the original.
