The Scientific Search Engine is a national initiative by the National Knowledge Economy Center (NKEC) that is affiliated to the General Secretariat of the Supreme Council for Planning and Development (GSSCPD), Kuwait. The Search Engine is part of the Kuwait Chair for Knowledge, an NKEC’s project.

The Search Engine is a key enabler of the State Vision 2035. It aims to support a local culture that promotes academic and scientific research. Essentially designed to support national efforts for the development of creative human capital, the Search Engine links search services to databases and academic and scientific journals and periodicals. Primarily, the Search Engine serves the field of knowledge economy and its relevant academic and professional disciplines, such as innovation, entrepreneurship, small and medium projects (SMEs), digital industries and services, leadership, creativity and knowledge management. The Search Engine provides its broad spectrum services free of charge.

Vision: The Search Engine for Scientific Research is a pioneer enabler of local research and scientific culture.

Mission: The Search Engine aims to support Knowledge accountability by means of empowering the public to exercise their right of access to digital and scientific sources of information for research purposes.

Objectives: The Search Engine Library aims to:

1.build a local digital research environment supporting knowledge economy;
2.empower researchers and specialists to access information sources and databases, globally;
3.build an interactive environment for researchers; and
4.contribute to enhance the scientific content to optimize the quality of research outputs for local researchers.
