Asset Catalog Creator Pro Description
Asset Catalog Creator takes any image & turns it into a complete & ready-to-use app icon. It supports every type of icon you'll ever need for any of Apple's platforms; iOS, iPadOS, watchOS, tvOS, macOS etc. It uses the xcasset catalog format & it's always updated for the very latest devices & software.

It doesn't just do app icons. It can make any icon within your app; converting your image into all the required 1x, 2x & 3x formats. If you're using vector-based iconography you can preserve all your vector data during the conversion & output your icons as pdfs, while still having control over the size of the image. It even includes a list of preset sizes for standard interface elements, such as tab bar icons, navbar icons etc.

As well as in-app icons, it also supports creating everything you need for Complications, iMessage, & Game Center.

As of iOS 15, there are 25 different image sizes required to make an iPhone/iPad app! Asset Catalog Creator is configured with well over 100 image dimension requirements. You’ll never need to look a size up again.

Asset Catalog Creator is designed to be quick & easy to use & fit seamlessly into your workflow. All you need to do is drag in an image, point the app to where your project is, pick your icon type & export. The app finds the existing asset catalog(s) & has advanced merging abilities that allow it to append or overwrite based on your choices.

If you’ve never used Asset Catalogs in your apps before, now is a great time to start. You’ll find managing & organising your image files much easier & you’ll also benefit from improved performance & reduced app install size, thanks to the smarter way asset catalogs are compiled & archived into binaries.

STANDARD & PRO APP VERSIONS
The app is available in two different versions, Asset Catalog Creator & Asset Catalog Creator Pro. Both versions have an identical set of features but have different pricing structures to suit your preference. Asset Catalog Creator gives you the ability to make iOS app icons out-of-the-box & you need to unlock the ability to create each additional type of icon via in-app purchases. The in-app purchases are all non-consumable so will be unlocked permanently & can be used across all of your computers. The difference with the Pro version is that every type of icon etc. is unlocked out-of-the-box & there is nothing additional in the app for you to purchase.

Hi App Creators,
Many app updates say bug fixes and performance improvements and that's exactly how you could summarise this update.
However, I want to emphasize that this update actually does make a noticeable improvement to performance. Particularly, you'll notice adding and removing images is approximately 1 million times faster than it was in previous versions.
On the bug fixes front, I've fixed some oddities on the Launch Screen previews and I've changed the way the app handles adding images in 'Single Image Mode' to prevent a gradual build-up of dirt and grime.
Enjoy.

Hi app makers,
I'm happy to announce that this update introduces support for SVGs. Where possible these are converted into PDFs. This allows you to retain the original image's vector information in your app as well as prevent the need to manage separate @2x and @3x images.
A word of warning though, SVG is kind of the wild west of formats and some more exotic ones might not render exactly as expected.
Less interestingly, now instead of bugging you repeatedly with lots of little alerts to view my other apps you now just get one big alert when you close the app. Hopefully, you'll find this less distracting and easier to suppress.
Enjoy ;)
3.0.1 2018-03-12
Fixed tvOS Game Center assets being locked.
Fixed a crash which could occur if image names ended with a 0 prefixed number i.e. MyFile05.png.
Improved keyboard shortcuts.
Other minor bug fixes and improvements.

Previous Update:

Hi developers,

This one’s been a huge under-the-hood rewrite. So much so that I’ve decided to call this the 3.0 version.

Here’s what you’re getting:
* You can now make the full set of Apple TV icons. That’s Icon, Launch, Top Shelf, Game Center Leaderboard and Dashboard.
* You’re now able to use multiple image size variant inputs with the most appropriate size being picked for each dimension. For example, if you’re making an iMessage icon, which includes both a square and a rectangular image, you can add a square and a rectangular image into the inputs.
* There’s a shiny new icon!
* Support for Apple TV 4K assets.
* There are even more preset image sizes. If you have any others that aren’t listed then please get in contact.
* The app now launches with your previous image inputs (this may have been something that only bothered me).
* Improved warnings and errors system. There are now new aspect ratio warnings, warnings for transparency removal etc.
* The iMessage icons now automatically stretch their edge colour to fill the entire icon, when necessary.
* Additional Touch Bar and keyboard controls.
* Plus plenty more minor bug fixes and general polishing up.

Thank you to everyone who gave feedback and decided what made it into this version.

Enjoy

You’re now prompted to sign up to my mailing list; I hope you will.
You can now select how you want to resize rectangular icons, i.e. iMessage, Watch icons
You can now drag images in straight from the Apple Photos app
Warnings about the input image's size not being ideal now appear prior to you exporting
I’ve baked in support for iOS 11 and the latest device’s icons
I’ve updated iMessage icons to the currently accepted format
I’ve fixed a bug that was causing multiple prompts to view my other apps appearing at the same time
I’ve updated to Swift 4, which allegedly reduces the binary size
To meet the latest App Store guidelines I've tweaked the name of the app

Until next time…
2.4.1 2017-08-29

The app now saves your recent output locations, so you can easily switch between projects.
You can now select a project folder and Asset Catalog Creator will find the existing catalog for you.
The app now supports the Touch Bar on the new MacBook Pro.
If you're appending an asset catalog that contains subfolders you can now locate and overwrite an asset within a subfolder.

Hello Developers,

Some of you haven't liked that the app's been associated with .xcasset folders. You win. It's undone.
Also fixed a bug where xcasset directories more than one folder level deep weren't being discovered.

Asset Catalog Creator now supports the iPad Pro icon
1.9.1 2015-10-06
Quick fix for the app hanging on El Capitan when selecting an output directory that already contains an asset catalog.

Previous update release notes:

Hi Developers,

This update took me ages for some reason. Maybe because it's summer, maybe because I've had a lot on, maybe because I bit off more than I could chew; but it's finally finished.

The main feature I've added in this update is the ability to create more than one asset at once. So now you can select a whole folder of icons, pick individual settings for them and have them all shoot off into a catalog. Convenience at your fingertips.

To go along with this there's also a much nicer alert when you are updating or adding to a catalog and you come across an existing asset with the same name; you now get an alert showing you thumbnails of the images you are going to be replacing. I've splashed out and added a cancel button, just in case you change your mind; that's 21st century thinking right there.

I've also given some thought to the less fortunate amongst us and improved how the app scales and looks on smaller screens and even those archaic non-retina displays.

Lastly, I think someone crept into my office just before the last release and put a few tiny bugs into the last version of the app. I've managed to track all of these down and have increased office security measures to prevent this happening again.

Enjoy.

Hello app making comrades,

So as if making Apple Watch icons wasn't enough, even more has now been added to Asset Catalog Creator.
This update improves appending and overwriting existing asset catalogs. Now you can select an existing asset catalog to import your assets into and you have the option overwrite what's already present or increment file names. This means you don't even need to drag an asset catalog into your project to use it; you can just update the one that's already there.
I've also forced the removal of the alpha channel from the Apple Watch icons so they won't fail validation after they've been uploaded to iTunes and you have the option to leave or remove the alpha channel from your splash screens and app icons.
Finally I've made a tiny tweak to the colour profiles of the exported icons.

Thanks for your continued support and for getting in touch with new feature requests and improvements.

Hello fellow programmers and designers, Asset Catalog Creator has added another string to its icon making bow.

I'm sure like me you're busy making apps for the Apple Watch, and with it there are 8 new icons sizes you're going to need. What I'm getting at is Asset Catalog Creator can now make Apple Watch icons for you. I haven't bothered to look, but I'm assuming this is the first app to be able to do this :)

Anyway, thanks for using Asset Catalog Creator
