HOW IS BALLOON STORIES DIFFERENT?
All social media platforms today are organized in one way — by profiles. By organizing content this way, there are some limitations. One in particular is the messy and cluttered newsfeed and the other is that the user is unable to control what they want to see in their feed.
We designed and built Balloon, so everything is organised by topics, interests and conversations we call "balloons".
YOU ARE IN FULL CONTROL
One of the most rewarding and valuable experiences that comes out of Balloon Stories is that you now fluently get to control what you follow.
UNFOLLOW WITHOUT COMPLETELY UNFOLLOWING
When you start following a user, you automatically start following all of that users 'balloons', meaning you will start seeing posts from that users 'balloons' in your newsfeed. Then you can at any given time unfollow a specific 'balloon story' from that user.
This is highly rewarding and valuable if you often find yourself in this type of a situation: “I really like seeing posts from Yuki, but as I don’t listen to podcasts I’m not interested in seeing her podcast posts, so I’ll unfollow her "Podcast" balloon without unfollowing her completely.”
FOLLOW WITHOUT COMPLETELY FOLLOWING
You can start following a specific balloon from a user, without following all the other balloons from that user.
This is highly rewarding and valuable if you often find yourself in this type of a situation: “I’m not really interested in JJ, but I’m really into following his backcountry ski posts, so I’ll follow his "Backcountry Skiing" balloon and his "Mountain Life" balloon, without following his profile and all of his other stories and posts.

**WHAT'S NEW IN v.1.4?**
1. PLAY A BALLOON AS A STORY
Tap on the Play button to experience a balloon as a fullscreen story.
2. CREATE A BALLOON USING A LINK
Automatically name your balloon and set the balloon cover photo by pasting in a web link, like an article, and the app will convert the title to the balloon name and the photo to the balloon cover photo!
3. FULL WIDTH PHOTO- AND VIDEO POST
The app now displays photo and video posts in full screen width with dynamic height. If the photo/video is not displayed fully, tap on the photo/video to see it in fullscreen.
4. CARD STYLE NEW POST INTERFACE
We have improved the new post interface and interaction so you can have a feel of the feed behind while creating a new post. The new style also supports swipe down to dismiss.
5. CARD STYLE NEW BALLOON CREATION INTERFACE
We have improved the two stepped new balloon creation interface and interaction with overlaying cards. The new style also supports swipe down to dismiss.
6. CARD STYLE COMMENTS VIEW
Comments are now opened in a card style overlaying interface and interaction.
7. BITMOJI LIBRARY
You can now connect your Balloon account with Snapchat to access your personal Bitmoji library when adding a new post.
8. YOUTUBE POSTS
You can now directly search and select Youtube videos when creating a new post. Simply tap on the 'Youtube' tool from New Post view.
9. WIDGET
Balloon Story now supports iOS Widget you can enable from your iOS Widget settings.
10. OVERALL IMPROVEMENTS
We improved our interface even further and simplified a series of flows and strengthened the app.
