Instead of asking for the company domain, we’ll simply ask you for your email address. Today marks another red letter day in our relentless pursuit to get more into the app to help you be more effective and productive in Bamboo while away from your big computer machine. The big new thing? Documents! If you got docs, you got ‘em in the app now, too.
That’s right, you can now get to the Documents tab on your profile (“My Info”) to see, download, or share whatever you have there (according to existing permissions, of course). As part of this update, we adjusted how your employee tabs work, so they all show by default instead of being hidden under a dropdown. Turns out, things are easier to find when you can see them. Who knew?

It’s time for an update folks, and this one clocks in as one of our most exciting. If you’re using BambooHR Time Tracking, you’ll now be able to do everything time-related from your phone! That’s right. Clock in and out, add or edit time entries, and manage your timesheet right within the app (all according to your permissions, of course). If you are an approver, you can even view and approve timesheets in the app.
We’ve really got to hand it to our team—time and time again, we watch them knock it out of the park. But could this be their finest hour? I suppose only time will tell.

* The previous update was forgetting which screen you were on when closing and reopening the app. This is fixed.
* If you were using a PIN to unlock the app, it was being ignored no matter how many times you tried. This is fixed.
* We added confetti on the employee directory screen for employees with a birthday or work anniversary. Sadly, when selecting that employee and going back, the confetti was gone! This is fixed.
* When you got a time off notification and tapped it, the app badge count was lying to you. This is fixed.
* There was a crash that some people may have seen when using the iPad (I know I know, we haven't given iPad much love for awhile). We believe this crash is fixed.

Hey folks! We have a pretty sizable update for you today. We’ve made lots of changes that will help provide a much more solid foundation for us to continue to add more to the app, so one day soon you can do more without having to jump on a computer.
The biggest change you will see is a proper “My Info” section that matches up with what you have when using Bamboo on a computer. Your personal info, emergency contacts, time off, and paystub (if enabled) will now show up under My Info.
On top of this structural change you will notice quite a few cosmetic updates to the app that help it feel more in line with its sister app for recruiting, BambooHR Hiring. Things will feel a little cleaner and simpler.
We've also adjusted logging in with Touch or Face ID to work a little nicer. It'll now work more like you expect. When Login with Touch or Face ID is enabled (in Settings), you can now fully log out and then log back in using only Touch or Face ID. Previously, it would only work when opening the app if you hadn't logged out. We think this new behavior make s a lot more sense.
Also, you’ll now see confetti in the directory for any of your colleagues that are celebrating a birthday or anniversary. Hooray!
And finally, we fixed a few bugs as well, including an issue that sometimes caused the who’s out section on the home screen to show nobody, even though there may actually be people out.

First off, we have some big news! Are you involved in hiring at your company? Want to make that part of your life just a teensy bit easier?
Well, today is your lucky day, my friend. (Well, Monday of last week was, technically). We just released a brand new app specifically designed for recruiters, hiring managers, and collaborators who use BambooHR for hiring. This new gem of an app will allow you to do the bulk of your hiring work on your favorite little screen. See and review new candidates, update statuses and ratings, view resumes, add comments and send emails to candidates. Even share a link to your open jobs straight from the app, if you’re into that sort of thing. The app is called…wait for it—BambooHR Hiring. Check it out if it sounds like something that might help you out.
As far as this app update, well, it’s chock-full of 15+ bug fixes. I won’t bore with you with details, but you’re looking at a lovely collection of fixes for stability, push notification weirdness, some cosmetic cleanup, even a bonus spotlight fix. Did you know you can find people in BambooHR straight from your phone’s top-level search? Give it a shot.

Happy Mayo de Dieciocho! Issue number one today is the first issue we're going to talk about.
1. Did you know you can edit your time off requests in the app? Yes! It’s true. Tap on “Time Off” on the bottom tab bar. Therein you will find the history of your time off requests. Some are in the past, some are in the future. And occasionally, if your timing is right, some are in the present. But our concern today lies in those future requests. Tap into one of those and you’ll see an Edit on the top right. Now, guess what happens when you tap on that.
This update fixes an issue that wouldn’t allow you to save any edits made to your request. Which honestly was a pretty big buzzkill on the whole experience.
2. Now, paystubs. Some of you lucky folks are able to see their paystubs in the app. Up to now, if your company switched payroll providers you wouldn’t see the paystubs from the old provider along with your new ones. That is now fixed. You’ll see all the ‘stubs.

* We made a bunch of interface refinements all over the app. You probably won’t notice them, but you also won’t notice that anything looks off. Which makes us feel better. Because we care.
* Sometimes a kung fu panda image shows up when there’s simply no reason to. Now, he should only show when he’s supposed to (which is rarely). There’s a good chance you’ve never seen him, and that’s how we like it.
* Before today, if you were a manager editing another person’s time off request, you would sometimes see your own time off balance instead of theirs. Now, you’ll see their balance on their time off request. This makes a lot more sense, if you ask us.

Hey, do you smell that? Smells a little like…*sniff* *sniff*…a fresh new iOS in here. That’s right, it’s September, which means a new version of iOS is descending upon us as the dew from heaven. The Bamboo app plays mostly nice with iOS 11, but this update brings a few fixes to make sure you won’t notice any glitches after you accept this gift from our fruit-based overlords.
Also:
* Fixed an issue with using the half/full day shortcuts when requesting time off
* There has been this particularly frustrating, multiple-tentacled issue that we’ve “fixed” several times. Now, finally, we can say once and for all that it is FIXED. You will never again see an eternal loading spinner when viewing an employee profile.

This is a little unorthodox, but I’m going to break the fourth wall today and speak directly to you, the app user, about me, the release note writer. You see, my given name is Anthony. It’s nice enough, but it never quite felt like me. So, after middle school I started going by ‘Tony.’ It feels much closer to who I am, my truth. But for months now the BambooHR app has been calling me Anthony, even though I’m Tony everywhere on the desktop site. Well, no longer my friends. This release is for all of you Anthonys out there. All of you Jennifers and Jeffreys, you Kimberlys and Kenneths. You beautiful people. If you prefer a different name, that name will now show throughout the app. Freedom!
Also:
* Have you ever tapped on a colleague on the directory only to be met with a never-ending spinner? You shouldn't see that anymore (let us know if you do).
* Fixed an issue that caused holidays to populate with hours on new time off requests like they are normal days. Silly holidays.
* Fixed an issue that caused the wrong time off icons to show on your time off history.

The app now plays nice with flexible (or unlimited) time off policies! Those will now count up, showing you how much you have used year to date, just like you see when using BambooHR in a web browser. If your time off accrues, nothing will change for you (except that it looks a bit nicer now).
Bugs squashed:
* Fixed an especially annoying issue that caused the app to not recognize valid domains. This was a pesky one. If you’re still seeing this happen, please let us know (email below).
* Fixed an issue that caused some people to see a blank home screen with Pudgy the Panda busting out a kung fu move.
* Fixed an issue that caused time off balances to sometimes show incorrectly or not show at all. That should all be buttoned up now.

Bug fixes! I know that doesn't sound exciting, but these ones were pretty heavy duty.
* Fixes an issue where the app wouldn't recognize your BambooHR domain as you're trying to login.
* Fixes an annoying crash when submitting time off.
* Fixes an issue that caused employee addresses to always show United States instead of the correct country.
* Fixes an issue that caused the wrong time off approver to show in the request confirmation message (it always went to the right person, but sometimes the wrong person would show up there).
* You'll now see a little camera icon on your profile photo if you have permission in the system to change it. You were always able to tap your photo to change it, but it turns out it wasn't clear at all. We think this small change will help.

* Single sign-on (SAML) support! This is a big one folks. If your company uses single sign-on to login to BambooHR on desktop you can now use that same magical power to login to the iOS app. Come on in, the water’s nice and warm.
* Inbox Filter for Admins - Admins can now filter the inbox to show only requests assigned to them, or choose to see all company requests. We hope this makes life just a little bit easier for you.
* Paystubmania – If your company uses Trax for payroll you will now be able to see your paystubs in the app (and boy are they nice). If you’re not sure, ask your BambooHR admin.
* More employee information for managers and admins – you’ll now see more of the employee information you have access to see on the desktop version of BambooHR in the iOS app. It’s not all there yet, but more is on the way.

* 3D Touch – firm press on the home screen icon to quickly get to primary actions like requesting time time off and searching the directory, or quickly jump to a colleague you recently viewed.

Overall app improvements —
* Fixes a goofy bug that caused “8” to be pre-filled as the amount on each day when requesting time off in days. If only we could take 8 days off in a day. That would be divine.
* App startup time dramatically improved. We know, we loved the cool little animating “b” icon too. But now you shouldn’t see it for nearly as long.

Big update, folks!
iOS 9 goodness —
* Search for colleagues without opening the app. That’s right, just use the plain ‘ole iOS spotlight search to search for your colleagues in BambooHR. Tap someone, and it will jump to their profile in BambooHR. Like whoa.
* Multi-tasking and Slide Over now works on supported iPads. Because you shouldn’t have to close Youtube to request time off.
Overall app improvements —
* See who else is out on your team when approving requests! You’re no longer in the dark when it comes to knowing if half your team will also be out during a certain request period. This has been missing for a while, we’re excited to get it in there for you.
* Quickly switch between hours/days on the Time Off Calculator - You might have found yourself saying at some point when calculating your time off, “Oh, cool, I have 38.4 hours available…but how many days it that?” Now we can quickly do that math for you. Just tap the amount in the calculator and it will switch to days (or to hours if it’s showing days). Sweet! Quick note though: this only works if you have default hours per day set on your account (ask your admin if you’re not sure).
* When you’re looking at your request details screen you can now see who the approval is waiting on, so you can bug ‘em if they’re taking forever to approve your request.
* The edit request button now only shows on requests that you can actually edit (d’oh!)
* New “Today" widget - We can’t make seeing who’s out and requesting time off much faster than this. Slide down from the top of screen, scroll down to the Edit button, and add BambooHR to your Today widgets. The widget allows you to see your current time off balances and start a new time off request, as well as see who’s out today without having to open the app. Yes, now you finally have a reason to use Today widgets. You’re welcome.
* Now, just tap on your photo on your profile screen to upload a new profile photo. You could upload a new photo before, but it was a little hidden and not awesome. We made it more accessible, cleaned it up, and added the option to take a photo (read: selfie) rather than selecting one from your library.
* Work Phone now shows on emergency contacts. (Remember, the Emergency Contact only shows for those who have permissions to see it).
* Magic calendar scroll - Sometimes on the calendar you can’t see very many people on the list of who’s out (especially for our friends on iPhone 4/5 screens), so we added a cool little scroll effect to allow you to see more people.
* Reduced crashiness. It is with deep sorrow and self-loathing that we recognize a few of our beloved customers saw the app crash on startup. We made some changes and this should now happen less, if at all. Forgive us, won’t you?
* A few other minor improvements.

Welcome to a brand new version of BambooHR! We’ve redesigned the entire app to bring you a new, fresh, delightful experience. You can do everything you did before in the app, like view your company directory, see who’s out of the office, check your PTO balances and request time off; but we’ve sprinkled oodles of goodies all over the app that we really think you’ll like.
Here’s some more detail on exactly what’s new:
* Entirely redesigned from head to little piggies
* New Home screen gives you a quick snapshot of your time off balances, pending requests, and who’s out today
* Brand new Time Off area shows you your upcoming time off (including time off requests and company holidays) and time off history
