《观世音菩萨普门品》。原是《妙法莲华经》里的一经品，由于观世音信仰传入中国日益盛行，所以经文从汉文译本内抽出来，成为便于受持读诵的单行经品本。经文的原本，在汉文译本如晋竺法护的《正法华经》、姚秦鸠摩罗什法师的《妙法莲华经》等中，此品全都是长行品。
观世音信仰很早就流行于西域，而且历久不衰。本品主要宣说观世音菩萨的普门示现。长行叙述无尽意菩萨和佛的两番问答。初次问答观世音菩萨得名因缘。二次问答观世音菩萨为众生说法的方便。末段特别赞叹观世音菩萨的弘大誓愿与神奇力量，并劝众生忆念归敬观世音。颂文之后，以持地菩萨称赞闻持本品功德作结。
