About Ventusky: Wetterkarten & Radar
Die Einzigartigkeit der App besteht in der Vielzahl der dargestellten Daten. Für die ganze Welt steht die Vorhersage bezüglich der Temperatur, der Niederschläge, des Windes, der Bewölkung, des Luftdruckes, der Schneedecke und weiterer meteorologischer Größen zur Verfügung. Eine derart komplexe meteorologische App ist im Internet einmalig.
Die Daten werden auf der Weltkarte angezeigt. Daher ist die wechselseitige Verknüpfung aller Geschehnisse in der Atmosphäre erkennbar. Die App VentuSky hat jedoch vor allem eine praktische Bedeutung. Die Besucher erfahren in einfacher Weise, wann es in ihrem Gebiet zu regnen beginnt und wie lange der Regen dau-ern wird.
Die Besucher haben dank der App VentuSky direkten Zugriff auf jene Daten, die durch den Webdienst anhand dreier numerischer Modelle erfasst werden. Neben den verhältnismäßig bekannten Daten aus dem amerikanischen Modell GFS (Global Forecast System) zeigt es auch die Daten des kanadischen Modells GEM (Global Environmental Multiscale Model) und des neuen deutschen Modells ICON, welches aufgrund seiner hohen Auflösung für die ganze Welt einzigartig ist.

1) A few weeks ago, we added a worldwide tide forecast. We are now introducing tide forecasts in line charts, where you can combine them with wave or weather data for any location on Earth.

Radar now includes real-time lightning detection. You can easily see where the lightning has struck. The lightning detection coverage is worldwide with the greatest accuracy in North America and Europe.
