About Flitsmeister
Receive alerts of approaching speed cameras, avoid unnecessary fines and enjoy real-time traffic information with Flitsmeister. The app helps you navigate to your destination and as a cherry on top, you get to start a parking action upon arrival. All of this in a single app and throughout the whole of Europe. Making your life easier, safer and more efficient before, during and after your trip, Flitsmeister is your best friend!
There are several other ways in which Flitsmeister will make your life easier:
• Mobile and fixed speed cam, speed check zone alerts; to save your hard-earned cash.
• Traffic jam alerts; check in advance whether you will be encountering a traffic jam on your route and start a new route if necessary.
• Service vehicle alerts such as ambulances and fire trucks, to help you get out of the way calmly and in time so they can reach their destination more quickly.
• Accidents, roadworks, stationary vehicles and other incident alerts: allowing you to anticipate the situation safely and in time.
• Matrix sign alerts: never miss a closed exit, opened rush hour lane or maximum speed instructions ever again.
• Navigation: the right instructions to get from A to B, taking into account the current situation on the road or recommending a different route if disturbances are expected on your route.
• Paid parking: start a parking action upon arrival at your destination with the tap of a button. The app will recognise whether you are located in a parking zone to make sure you don’t forget to start the parking action. We will send you a notification as soon as you get back behind the wheel so you never forget to stop your parking action and never overpay.
• Traffic lights: certain traffic lights in the Netherlands will send their current status to the app. The number of these ‘smart’ traffic lights will be increasing in the future, allowing us to show you a countdown for the green light and speed recommendations to keep you in the green wave.
• Apple Carplay for Flitsmeister on the screen of your car: navigate to your destination even more conveniently by displaying Flitsmeister on the screen of your car. Of course, you will also keep receiving the usual alerts for speed cams, traffic jams and hazards during your trip.

Thanks for using our app. As a token of gratitude, we’ve prepared another sweet update for you: the landscape navigation mode has been revamped and review submission on your ONE is back to normal. CarPlay was retouched to solve a number of bugs. Anything to give you a smooth trip, even when hitting the supermarket by yourself in these tough times :-)

Steven Brunswijk, is now available in the app. The stand-up comedian from North Brabant will voice all your navigation instructions and alerts. Unfortunately, people still end up on the wrong side of the road sometimes. It might even happen to you. To alert you and other users to such situations, we have now added alerts for approaching wrong-way drivers and wrong-way driving.
New features continue to be added to the app, but our userbase has been exploding as well.

Did you know you could pay for public parking with Flitsmeister? You can easily start a parking session after your drive and when you depart again you'll be warned to stop your session. Create an account in the app's menu. For our Belgian users: from this update on you can also start parking sessions with our app in Belgium! If you have a Flitsmeister ONE, you can see the battery status in the menu so you know when to replace the battery.

In our latest newsletter you saw that we are busy working on some nice improvements for the app. That shows in this cool update:
You are now rewarded for a number of actions in Flitsmeister! From now on you can unlock a number of achievements in the app, feel free to check the overview from the menu. We will further expand this feature in the coming months.
The delay colors have also returned (green = no traffic jam, orange = short traffic jam, red = long traffic jam). From now on, information from matrix signs can be seen on the ‘For you’ tab and for when you go abroad again: the welcome message now has nightmode support. CarPlay has also been overhauled. Too many improvements to mention, so update the app and experience it for yourself.

We've done our best to make an awesome update for you again. Here is the deal: You will now get lane-guidance when navigating and the upcoming instruction is also visible when it is relevant. That way you'll know which exit to take beforehand and which lane you should take. Convenient! Good news for CarPlay-users: these features also work on CarPlay and we've also fixed some other bugs specifically for CarPlay.

Although the roads are quiet, it’s good to know that the 100km/h measure is now officially in effect on every highway in The Netherlands. The correct maximum speeds were already processed in the last update. Just so you know! In this update, we’ve made sure that you’ll get the correct instruction when merging onto the highway.

For our CarPlay users: if the app was on the background, you could miss some notifications. We have improved this. When your GPS connection gets a bit lost, we will now notify you so you’ll be extra cautious during your trip. Because we are expanding abroad, some new languages are added: Swedish, Finnish, Danish, Norwegian and Polish. Our community will grow and our data will be even more accurate! Also, the Flitsmeister family has been expanded. Welcome Daan, Loïs and Milo!

While we are recovering from us ten-year anniversary, we've got this awesome update for you. Take a seat for this. The map is now available in dark-mode! What?! Yes, really! Also, the matrix signs above the road are now visible on the map tab and some smart traffic lights are available in the app. When approaching a traffic light, you will see it's color early. In the future we will expand on this feature. Check flitsmeister.nl/vri for more info. Update the app quickly, so you can see these amazing new features for yourself!

We have improved our Map tab significantly! You can now configure the app so the zooming stays at the same zoomlevel that you choose. Back to your location on the map? Tap 'Recenter'. Flitsmeister on CarPlay has also been improved in this version and will be improved even more in the near future. Also, our colleague Jorn has hit a hole-in-one this weekend.

Our developers are working so hard that the app gets confused sometimes. It kept loading when there were no notifications for your favourite roads. We had a good heart-to-heart with the app, and it is back to normal. Plus, you can now easily register and sign in with your Apple ID. This will work as long as you have iOS 13 or higher installed on your iPhone. NICE.

Our developers have been busy! From now on you’ll be able to report an “Animal on the road”. First and foremost for the sake of road safety, of course, but also for the animal’s safety. In the spirit of less is more, we’ve simplified the notifications in the traffic tab. How cool are we, right? So, time to update and make us happy too.

To brighten up your rainy day, we have an awesome update for you. The ‘For you’ notifications and the report function are now available on your iPhone screen while using CarPlay! Soon, we will make sure that you can also report incidents from the in-car display. The travel time and remaining travel distance functions during navigation are also fixed. YEAH. We’re sure this made your day. You were already being warned for 'speed trap bunkers' (a sneaky, hidden speed camera in a car trailer), but this type now also has its own icon and notification. This will make you familiar with this type of speed cam and it enables us to clearly warn you for it. Let’s update!

What is your initial experience with CarPlay? We’ve added some fixes which make it work even better. You will now receive alerts for level crossings. Sadly, it is not rare for something to go wrong and these alerts are there to help you keep on the lookout. There is even a penalty of EUR 240 for jumping a flashing light! Want to plan your route to your appointment here and now? It’s easy with the calendar link. Nice one!
