About Daily Dictionary
Discover a new word, every day, with Daily Dictionary. Words are selected by human editors. This means words that you can use in everyday conversation, writing and reports. No technical science jargon. With definitions, usage examples and synonyms, gain confidence to use language that you never normally would … as well as some words that are entirely new to you.
Daily Dictionary features daily notifications, home screen widgets and Siri integration. Word of the day your way. Siri Shortcuts lets you ask Siri ‘word of the day’ from anywhere, and display the daily word and definition inline to Siri.

Daily Dictionary 2.0 features Home Screen widgets to place amongst your app icons. Also, daily notifications will now respect your current timezone, so they automatically arrive in the morning — wherever you are in the world. If you want to change the time when Word of the Day notifications are delivered, you can change this in Daily Dictionary's settings. In the app, enjoy an interface redesign featuring more detailed information at a glance and a brand new Today tab.

New: On iPhone, premium users can now access the full archive of all past words. Just scroll to the bottom of the recent words and select 'Word Archive'. You can now access all featured words since Daily Dictionary began in September 2018.
A Premium unlock is now required to see complete word entries including example usage phrases, access the word archive, and unlock other perks including Bookmarks and a Dark Mode theme. Thanks to everyone who has supported Daily Dictionary to date.
This update also includes a few miscellaneous bug fixes.

- Advanced: You can now create a special data shortcut to extract Word of the Day information as variables in the Apple Shortcuts app. Find the Advanced Data Shortcut section in the Extras menu.

You can add a bookmark by pressing the Add Bookmark button when viewing a word inside the app, or from the daily notification — save the daily word in one tap without needing to launch Daily Dictionary.
