Foundation is for all civil, architecture, and geotechnical engineers and students. Foundation support both English and SI units and gives you the option to use US, Canadian, or European metric rebars when using SI units. With Foundation, you have the ability to email or print results from your iPhone or iPad.

Features:

-Spread Footing Design: design square or rectangular spread footing subject to a single axial load and moment. Foundation will proportion the footing and calculate the required flexure reinforcement as per American Concrete Institute building code requirements ACI 318-08 (ACI 318-08M for SI). The results also includes the soil pressure under the four corners of the footing.

-Footing Bearing Capacity: calculate the bearing capacity of a strip or rectangular footing using Terzaghi, Meyerhof, or Hansen method.

-Footing Settlement Calculation: calculate the settlement of a footing on a layered foundation system.

-Single Pile Capacity: calculates the load capacity of a single driven pile in a layered foundation system. The pile can be round or square and could be either of concrete, steel, or timber material.

-Pile Group Capacity: calculates the load capacity of a group of driven piles in layered foundation system. Foundation will determine whether the capacity is based on the system of pile group acting as a single pier or the sum of all individual capacities.

-Retaining Wall Check: check the stability of a cantilevered retaining wall. Foundation will check the wall against sliding, overturning, and bearing (based on Terzaghi).

-Email reports as images or PDFs.

-Print reports to an AirPrint enabled printers.

-Choose your reports background paper (yellow engineering, white engineer, plain white) and fonts (Marker Felt, Helvetica, and Times New Roman).

-Option to set your default units and metric rebar.

-Includes table for US standard, US metric, European, and Canadian reinforcing rebars properties (diameter and area).

Please note that Foundation deals with the geotechnical aspect of foundation. The app will not calculates the pile or retaining wall reinforcement or dimension.
