About Water Map Live - Holland

This is by far the most complete waterway and boating chart of the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany. With all fairway features, buoyage, traffic signs and *live* bridges and locks: opening times, telephone numbers and VHF radio channels. More than 272,000 objects on the map, conveniently arranged in map layers that you can switch on and off as desired.

All water charts can be downloaded and used offline.

The app also offers hundreds of water level gauges with live water level data, tide curves, current sea weather, water temperature, navigation water depths, data from SAR stations, the complete Inland Waterways Police Regulations (BPR) and the water quality of numerous Dutch bathing water locations. And of course the latest Shipping Notices with works and obstructions.

Thanks to GPS, you can also read your speed and current coordinates. Of course, the app includes a sailing route planner: enter your starting point and end point on the Waterkaart Live chart and it will calculate the fastest route between the two points and show you which bridges and locks you will encounter en route. Handy!

Thanks to network AIS integration, you also get a good impression of the live positions of ships around you.

The app also contains the complete and up-to-date Inland Waterways Police Regulations (BPR). You can search these and provide them with leaflets for reference. Also useful when getting your boating licence. The Inland Waterways Police Regulations contain the traffic rules for the vast majority of Dutch inland waterways and are compulsory for virtually every water sportsman and professional water user. Instead of a book, you can now carry this app on your iPhone and iPad.

NOTE: The Waterkaart Live and BPR are perfectly usable offline, however, for the live information on bridges & locks, current water levels and current weather it obviously uses an internet connection. The same applies to the current Shipping Notices.
