About A.P.E.X.
The A.P.E.X. app offers workout progressions designed by me, Nick Ryan CSCS. My brother-in-law Pat Brown is our tech guru that engineered the app, making it smooth as butter and a pleasure to use. We initially made it for ourselves, but based on the feedback we got from friends and family decided to offer to everyone! PROGRESSIONS
All the workouts we offer are part of a bigger picture, a progression. A progression is a series of workouts that become increasingly more challenging as you improve. As you complete workouts and improve in performance you unlock harder workouts.
DOMAINS
Each of our progressions falls under a training domain. We have four domains: Agility. Power. Endurance. Xplosiveness. AGILITY progressions use linear speed and change of direction to create a fun and challenging workout using your body in space with minimal equipment. POWER progressions incorporate both HIT/HVT strength training methodology and range from no gym to full gym in program design. ENDURANCE progressions include traditional distance endurance training as well metabolic conditioning that uses battle ropes, kettlebells, TRX and more. XPLOSIVENESS progressions take the best of olympic lifts and plyometrics to challenge the body while avoiding injuries with good program design.
TIER SYSTEM
Each workout within the progression is classified by tier and phase. We have 3 tiers: WHITE, RED, and BLACK, with 3 phases per tier. WHITE workouts are simple yet effective, are good for beginners and are welcomed revisits to basics for veterans. RED workouts are more challenging due to added modifiers and more complex program design, making them efficient and effective ways to maximize your time training. BLACK workouts are invitation-only, and are pushed to your phone or offered regionally to folks that have documented proof that they are ready for a challenge.
HOW IT WORKS
From the PROGRAMS page, select a progression that interests you. Use the red highlighted letters to guide you to the right domain, read the descriptions, click on the the tiles to read more and preview the first workout in the progression. You will notice a Gauge under the program description. This gauge monitors your progress within that progression, including performance, consistency, and improvement. It also accounts for any other training programs you are doing in the app. Preview the workout and click on any exercises you are unfamiliar with to open up a page with pictures and instructions for that exercise. Start the workout once you're ready, and take advantage of built-in timers, tracking systems, and an all around smooth interface with great program design. Warm-ups, training, and cool-downs are all built in. Thanks for checking us out, now download the app and start training!
