Food additives are substances added to food to preserve flavor or enhance its taste and appearance. Some additives have been used for centuries; for example, preserving food by pickling (with vinegar), salting, as with bacon, preserving sweets or using sulfur dioxide as in some wines.
Food additives are usually presented as a 3-digit number preceded by the letter "E". However, a normal person reading the Nutritional Information on the back of a food packing has no idea whatsoever what these digits represents. This App is therefore designed for everyone to be able to lookup these "E numbers" when they need to.
