Have You Ever Wonder Why it is So Hard To Quit Smoking?

Mark Twain said, "Quitting smoking is easy. I've done it a thousand times." Maybe you've tried to quit too. Why is quitting, and staying quit, difficult for so many people? The answer is nicotine.
When smokers try to cut back or quit, the absence of a very powerful drug as nicotine leads to physical and psychological withdrawal. Physically, the body is reacting to the absence of the drug nicotine. Psychologically, the smoker is faced with giving up a habit. Both must be dealt with if quitting is to be successful.

If a person has smoked regularly and abruptly stops using tobacco or significantly reduces the amount smoked, withdrawal symptoms will occur including:

- weight gain
- increased appetite
- depression
- feelings of frustration and anger
- irritability
- trouble sleeping
- difficulty concentrating

- tiredness

While you're using nicotine-containing products, your body adapts the way it works to compensate for the effects of the nicotine. The Quit Smoking program consists of two phases:

- Phase One (3-4 days) - the time interval between your cigarettes will gradually increase, giving you a chance to get used to the app. After Phase One is finished, the app will make a personalized quit smoking schedule based on your smoking habits.

- Phase Two (estimated duration of 30 days) During this phase, the app will gradually adjust the time interval between your cigarettes using data from Phase One, as well as making adjustments to your smoking habits as you progress with the program.
