Verizon's Push to Talk Plus is getting an upgrade with the introduction of Verizon Group First Response (MC-PTT); a 3GPP standards based interoperable push-to-talk solution.
Mission Critical Push-to-Talk (MCPTT) is a push-to-talk over cellular (PoC) standard established by 3GPP to meet the critical performance metrics of Land Mobile Radio (LMR) push-to-talk technologies like P25 and Terrestrial Trunked Radio (TETRA).
Group First Response (MC-PTT) operates on the Verizon LTE network and complements the mission-critical capabilities provided by LMR networks. It expands LMR networks nationwide to a greater number of users. It gives first responders more ways to communicate critical information and help them formulate faster, more effective responses—all with the push of a button.
