Vitamin K Counter & Tracker Description
Vitamin K plays key roles in blood clotting to prevent bleeding and bone health, and appears to help in the prevention and treatment of postmenopausal osteoporosis. Anticoagulants like warfarin (Coumadin®) act by lowering the activity of vitamin K, so it is important that people taking such anticoagulants maintain a consistent daily vitamin K intake to avoid fluctuations in warfarin activity, which can lead to bleeding (too much activity) or thrombosis (too little activity). This app can help you maintain a consistent intake of vitamin K.
Set you target daily vitamin K intake based on the info provided in the app or advice from your healthcare provider and watch your progress towards your target in real-time as you record your food and beverage intake using speech recognition or by favoriting foods and using the serving sizes provided, which are mainly those suggested by USDA Food Data Central (you can change to your serving sizes if different at any time).
You can view your intake over time on the Month view dashboard, and export your food diaries and vitamin K intake into a spreadsheet for your own information or to share with healthcare providers.
The app is curated and contains 325+ common (mainly healthy) foods and drinks and you can add your own branded and other foods and recipes at any time. This means the app does not require access to the Internet, and does not collect any of your data or required additional payments.
Apple's HealthKit functionality is integrated in the app's user interface so you can share your data with Apple's Health app. You can also synchronize all data in the app with your other First Line Medical Communication Ltd healthy diet apps on your iPhones and iPads.
Also useful nutritional information via the Info tab.
The interface is intuitive to navigate, but it can be useful to familiarise yourself with the full functionality of the app by touching the icons, words, and bars on every screen and swiping left and right on the Tracker screen.
