Introducing Watch APRS - A new way to live monitor APRS packets from ham and amateur radio transmitters across the world!
Watch APRS is a successor to my APRS Watch App from a few years ago. By popular demand I have re-designed, re-architected, and re-published the App as a new generational version in the App Store.
Watch APRS expands beyond the original by offering not only new reliable connections to APRS Tier 2 servers across the world but also many new features being built to improve your overall experience.
Features include:
* Live monitoring of APRS traffic and packets based on GPS location
* Live data analytics on APRS packets such as Average Outdoor Temperatures from weather telemetry data
* Interactive mapping of APRS packets using your device's included Apple Maps feature
* Improved UX/UI (User Interface and Experience) to view data from several types of APRS packets within the App
* Improved connection reliability with APRS Servers including when the App is put into the background and resumed from Sleep
* Can handle thousands of packets and millions of bytes of data in a single App session
* Industrial grade APRS packet parsing
* Geocoding of APRS packet data to show location names on top of the actual GPS position
* Re-built and re-coded with Microsoft .NET MAUI with a whole new back-end library and code to better deliver the data when you need it the most
We have decided to discontinue the Ad Free feature for the time being as we are re-building our entire code base and finding ways to better support development. Thank you for your continued support of the ongoing development of the Watch APRS App. As a courtesy we have enabled the APRS transmission feature for all users to allow you to transmit your phone's location with a valid amateur radio license and call sign to the APRS servers.

This version was completely re-written with Microsoft .NET MAUI for the backend. We no longer depend on a third-party library to parse APRS packets or any native system calls to handle the processing. We have discontinued the Ad-Free feature presently as we are trying to re-structure our App to help better support its development. As a courtesy we have enabled the APRS transmission feature for all users to allow you to transmit your phone's location with a valid amateur radio license and call sign to the APRS servers.

We have now integrated a native library for processing APRS packets - this means we can unlock more APRS data than ever before. Starting now you will see the same great data you know and love; however, we added a native processing library in the background to handle packet processing instead of relying on custom code. This library is used commonly through out the amateur radio source code community.

In this version we have listened to everyone's feedback! We have implemented Apple Maps natively into the App along with fix all the issues with location permissions. We squashed some bugs with the love and support of our fans! You guys rock!
