About Yoink - Improved Drag and Drop

Yoink for iPad and iPhone lets you easily and quickly store items you drag, copy, share or download for later use.

This way, you can collect items in a central place without having to constantly move back and forth between your source- and destination applications.
The app accepts virtually any file type, for example app-content like images from websites, text snippets, web urls, eMails and documents - no matter if you drag, copy, share or download them.

Here's what users say about Yoink:
"The best shelf app on iOS" - Igloouk, UK App Store
"Most useful app in the iOS store. What a gem." - noway170, Austrian App Store
"A godsend. Get this. Now." - mr chairboy, US App Store

As a Slide-Over or Side-by-Side app on iPad, Yoink is always ready for you to drag something to it, no matter what app you're in. Just slide Yoink into view and conclude your drag operation.
On iPhone, use Yoink's Share extension, or copy-paste items into Yoink.
Items are stored in Yoink for later use, featuring rich previews for easy identification and full previews for most file types.
Drags containing multiple items are combined into a Stack.

Yoink comes with deep system integration:
- Clipboard Monitor:
Yoink's clipboard monitor saves everything you copy or cut, even when Yoink itself is in the background.
Use the Picture-in-Picture overlay to select what type of data Yoink should save, as well as to pause or stop it at any time.

- Picture-in-Picture for more than just videos:
Among others, Yoink can show pictures, PDFs, eMails and even websites in the Picture-in-Picture overlay, and lets you scroll through pages of documents right there.

- iCloud Sync
Synchronize Yoink's items across your devices using iCloud

- Handoff
Transfer files between iPhones, iPads and Macs (separate Mac Yoink app required) using Handoff

- Action/Share Extension
Almost any item you can share via the system-wide Share sheet, you can send directly to Yoink from there

- Keyboard
Yoink has its own keyboard so that inserting items you've stored in Yoink is easy and quick, without having to launch Yoink.

- Spotlight Integration
Any item in Yoink can be found via Spotlight - and the search-results are draggable.

- Today Widget
Access Yoink's items and save the contents from your clipboard in Yoink from Notification Center

- Shortcuts / Siri Suggestions
Yoink offers you Siri Shortcuts and Suggestions so you can automate processes, like adding items from the clipboard to Yoink, or copying items from Yoink, as well as starting downloads in Yoink.

- Files Integration
Access Yoink's files from any app that supports iOS 11's document browser

Here's what the press says about Yoink:
"Yoink is the shelf app Apple should have made." - Federico Viticci, MacStories.net
"Yoink is a must-have app" - Jeff Benjamin; 9to5mac.com
"Indispensable for power users." - Craig Grannell; techradar.com

Version 1.1.2 is a supplementary update for v1.1.1, fixing an issue that arose in that version within the Today Widget, where, if no items were stored in Yoink, the widget would fail to load.

New Features in Yoink v1.1.1:
- You can now browse through items in Yoink's Today Widget
- Yoink now monitors changes to the clipboard when in Side-by-Side or Slide-Over mode in real-time

Improvements in Yoink v1.1.1:
- Downloads now show their progress in percent
- Adding a PDF or image from Safari to Yoink via its Action/Share extension now works properly
- PDF previews now show the top of the page instead of its center
- When downloading something to Yoink from its Action/Share extension with Yoink's main app Side-by-Side (or Slide-Over), Yoink now takes over the download immediately
- Improved reloading of website- (and other) previews if initial try failed
- Improved downloading of Dropbox URLs (via both the main app and its Action/Share extension) - the URL parameter dl=0 is automatically changed to dl=1 in the case of a download
- Improved the reliability of creating previews and titles for iTunes URLs (using iTunes' lookup API)
- iTunes URLs now show higher-quality previews
- Improved reliability of Yoink's File Provider extension
- Filenames are now used for titles without a filename suggested by iOS

Bugfixes and minor changes in Yoink v1.1.1:
- Rotating the device does not commit finish renaming or start a download anymore
- When deleting items while editing, the copy and share buttons are now disabled if no items are selected afterwards; likewise, the Stack button is updated accordingly
- Now has the correct animation when dropping something from Yoink onto a blank space in Yoink or when dropping onto a downloading item
- When auto-adding content from the clipboard to Yoink, dragging now works properly afterwards
- Fixed a crash on launch in rare cases when the clipboard panel would be shown
- Fixed an issue where viewing an eMail would sometimes present an old, perhaps even already deleted, eMail
- Fixed a rare crash when going back to the main view from a Stack
- Fixed a rare crash when opening a custom url scheme while previewing a file
- Fixed a rare crash when a Stack failed to be created
- Fixed a rare crash in the Action/Share extension when adding items
- Fixed an issue where, after starting a download from Yoink's Action/Share extension, the main app would be unnecessarily notified about it twice
- Fixed an issue where, after a download finishes, the main app would not display it correctly in some cases
- Fixed a minor memory management issue
- Fixed a crash in the keyboard extension when trying to copy something
- Fixed a crash in the Today Widget extension when changing its size
- Fixed a crash when adding Apple Music URLs and trying to create their previews
- Fixed an issue where zooming into a PDF in fullscreen, then switching to Side-by-Side/Slide-Over would result in not being able to zoom back out of the PDF
- Fixed a bug where sometimes an icon would be redrawn even though there was no need, causing an ImageIO error in the process and, sometimes, a crash
- Fixed an issue with Yoink's trash and dynamic type
- Fixed an issue with copied text from Mail.app (and other Rich Text apps), where, after pasting from Yoink back to another app, the font size might have changed

New Features in Yoink v1.1:
- Clipboard Integration
When you open Yoink and have something new on your clipboard, Yoink will automatically offer to store it for you.
(Tap the icon to see a full preview before adding, and check Yoink's Settings for customizing this feature to your needs)
- Download URLs
When sharing a URL with Yoink through its new Action extension in a Share sheet, Yoink offers you to either store the URL itself in Yoink or to download the file the URL points to in the background. An optional notification can inform you about finished or failed downloads.
- Today Widget
Using Yoink's Today Widget, you have quick access to the most recent items stored in Yoink and are able to quickly store your clipboard's contents in Yoink
- Quicker Sharing, Copying
Each item and stack in Yoink now has a button you can tap to quickly copy, share, select, delete and more
- Better iPhone support, full support for iPhone X
Quick Actions for quickly adding your clipboard contents from your home screen, or to start a URL download
Peek and Pop for items and stacks in Yoink
- URL scheme
You can now communicate with Yoink from other apps using Yoink's URL scheme. For more information, please visit https://eternalstorms.at/yoink/ios/tips (Tip #6)
- File Provider
Access files stored in Yoink from any app that supports iOS 11's documents browser

Improvements in Yoink v1.1:
- Improved Keyboard Extension
Smaller memory footprint, Stacks on iPhone are split up so individual files can be copied, better feedback when copying items on iPhone
On iPad, items in the keyboard can now also be copied, by tapping on them with two fingers
- Drag items ontop one another to create stacks more easily
- Improved iPhone texts and instructions, as well as general "iPhone awareness" in Yoink
- Yoink does not attempt to create previews of URLs anymore that do not lead to html/text websites (like PDFs or zip files, for example) to be more memory-friendly
- Overall memory performance improvements in Yoink's extensions and the main app
- "Never delete" preference
Additional to the options of immediately deleting trashed files or trashing them after a certain amount of time has passed, you can now select to never automatically delete items in Yoink's trash
- For RTF-only items, Yoink now also tries to create a plaintext representation
- When editing, instead of having a menu for sharing and copying, those buttons are now immediately available
- Spotlight now indexes text items, and for items contained in a stack the stack's title
- Re-implemented Action extension
Instead of having to confirm adding something to Yoink, it's now added right away. As stated above, it also recognizes URLs and offers you to download the files URLs point to.

Other improvements and bug fixes in Yoink v1.1:
- Fixed known crashes
- Fixed a bug where Apple Music URLs sometimes wouldn't work properly
- Fixed a bug where an Apple Music URL to a song would open as a link to its album in Yoink
- iPad: Asking for a review now only happens when Yoink is fullscreen
- Fixed a bug where some plain text items didn't work properly
- Fixed a bug where renaming items with a hardware keyboard attached wasn't possible
- Fixed a bug where deleting a Stack from within the Stack didn't work correctly
- Fixed the Splash Screen layout in some cases
- The representations view now resizes properly for longer localizations like German
- Fixed a crash when selecting a search result in Spotlight that wasn't available anymore in Yoink
- Yoink's Action extension no longer appears in 1Password prompts
- Fixed a couple of typos
- Fixed some drawing in Yoink's keyboard extension
- Fixed a bug where sometimes a type selection would be shown, even though there was only one type to select
