Nowadays, dates, facts and figures are ten a penny. With this in mind, the ABOUT BERLIN tour guide has taken a new approach that brings history to life in surprising ways through storytelling. This free app presents locations and events that have played a key role in shaping Berlin’s image as the city of freedom.

The ABOUT BERLIN tour guide and city app put the focus on places that reflect a whole era through the lives of Berliners and their love of freedom. Every story, every location brings history to life, telling reallife tales of oppression and revolution, idealism and hedonism, innovation and decay, captivity and freedom.
The free ABOUT BERLIN city guide also takes you off the beaten track. Why? Because very few people know what lies behind these seemingly nondescript places – living history, fascinating stories, unknown aspects of politics, society and history in different periods. When you use the app, you can work your way through seven periods of Berlin history from 1871 to the present day and on into the future, or you can select individual stories and locations to explore.
