About this app
The mobile application is developed at the request of the World Health Organization (WHO) – Regional Office for Africa (AFRO). iSC m-learning is a mobile learning application designed to reinforce the knowledge and skills of the immunization cold chain officers and logisticians in 47 African countries. It allows users to access micro-learning capsules developed in accordance with guidelines established by WHO, UNICEF, People that Deliver, etc. Through the application, users can peer in a team culture thanks to the forum, the social network and the instant messages, extend their knowledge with the knowledge library.

Who can use iSC m-learning
iSC personnel at all levels of the health system across 47 countries in the WHO AFRO region:
• iSC Managers
• Logisticians
• Cold chain officers
• Store keepers
• National Logistics Working Group members
• In-country technical partners

How iSC m-learning helps WHO AFRO address increasing challenges while working towards more equitable access to routine vaccinations and new vaccines in an effort to protect children from preventable diseases?

In the WHO African Region, countries and partners have delivered various immunization training programmes but recent EVM Assessments revealed the needs to still continue train and retrain immunization supply chain personnel. The main challenges are currently highlighted to reach high performance of personnel in the iSC domain: Standard training content without considerations of the various competencies requirements, costly and lengthy training and re-training duration for the high number of immunization supply chain personnel.

The app, an innovative solution to deliver appropriate on-the-job learnings, offers the following benefits:
• Encourage close contact between in-country iSC personnel to enable support to be provided quickly and easily if necessary.
• Promote a culture of peer learning through the forum and social network to share each other's experiences to meet the challenges of iSC..
• Facilitate the learning process by providing easily assimilable and accessible micro-learning capsules, based on the main iSC resources: guidelines, tools, reports, etc.
