You know the pros when you see ‘em. In one swift motion, the phone emerges, the bike releases from the dock and before you can even blink, they’re riding off into the sunset. It’s beautiful. But not everyone is a pro. We wanted to help the newbies unlock a bike a little faster, so we built a slick animation on the Ride Code screen highlighting exactly where to enter your code so you can unlock and get going. One small step for man, a giant leap for all of bikerkind.

As we’re preparing to hibernate, we thought it’d be a good time to make some stability improvements to keep your app running smoothly, like a sharpened ice skate gliding across a freshly zambonied ice rink… now that’s smooth. I guess winter is on our minds. Stay warm!

We’re a bit biased here, but we think bike share is a really dynamic way to get around. Dynamic in the “lots of change” sense; the number of bikes at each station changes constantly and your app shares up-to-the second information. But we’ve heard from AMIS BIXI that changing points while mid-rental is confusing, and, well, we agree. So now AMIS BIXI points won’t change while you’re in the middle of a trip. Score those rewards with extra peace of mind.

Parents aren’t supposed to have favorites. But we all know they do. Just like we all have our favorite of our favorite stations. Like we love all our stations equally, but there is one station we for sure love more than the others because it just cares about us more, ya know? And then sometimes we move. Or get a new job. Or fall in love with someone that doesn’t live in the same neighborhood as us. And then our favorite stations change. As do our hearts. That’s why we updated your favorites list, so you can sort, arrange, and order your “favorite” stations to your heart’s content. So, go ahead, shout your love for that station from the top of the screen, or the top of your roof if you have access.

You know what they say about making assumptions. . . Well, to-date, our beloved app has been making some assumptions about how you think about distance, but perhaps you live in the US and think in kilometers. Or maybe your phone is set on Canadian English but you think in miles. Well now the choice is up to you. Go to settings to choose miles or kilometers. In the next release: Furlongs.
