Why 3000+ words?
Linguists believe that the basis of vocabulary in a language is about 3000 words, which give understanding of 85% of the text, and the second 3000 words add only 5%. Each successive thousand words adds much less than the previous one.
This is because the less common words (not included in the most frequent 3000) are rare. Therefore, it is believed that the most effective way to learn a language as quickly as possible is to learn the most common 3000 words and then build up your vocabulary by reading and listening to original materials: news, movies, radio, etc.

The word cards are divided into groups according to topics and parts of speech: Verbs, Nouns, Adverbs, Adjectives, Prepositions and Conjunctions.
