Thanks to all your feedback, we have made a number of improvements across the app, from improved timetable layout to performance improvements and bugfixes.

‘Assignments Agenda’
Keep on track with your Assignments Agenda! Easily navigable through the Timetable, Assignment Agenda will highlight all of your upcoming deadlines and assignments, making it easier to see what you’ve got due next. For past assignments, navigate to the Timetable.

‘Attendance’
We have improved the way you view attendance! In monthly view, there are now four different options: Exams, Deadlines, Events Checked Into, Events Not Checked Into.

‘News and Events’
Discover University news and events through the iLancaster app. In the News tab, filter what you want to see (Department, College, Lancaster, Staff) and use the search to find specific articles within a category. In Events, filter through a list of Event Cards based on the type of event you want to see (Webinar, Seminar, Socials etc.) and find out more about specific events. Web view is also available.

Get Help on Campus

Introducing Get Help on Campus! Connect instantly to campus security from the welfare tab in the app. In emergency situations, raise alerts to notify security and share your location for faster assistance.



News

Stay up to date with important news. Don't miss out on campus updates! Get live news from staff, your department, your college, and iLancaster. Located on the home screen, stay informed about the latest campus news!



ASK Enquiries

Can't find the information you're looking for? Raise an ASK Enquiry straight from the app! Streamlining query responses, you can now ask anything directly within the app. Choose from categorized options to refine your search and receive faster, accurate assistance for your queries.

The main update is Get Help on Campus, a powerful feature, designed to enhance the safety and security of students and staff on the Lancaster University campus. This innovative functionality allows users to quickly report suspicious activities or emergencies and instantly notify the university's security team for immediate response.

With the Get Help on Campus feature, users can activate a distress signal by pressing the emergency button within the app. This action triggers an alert that is immediately sent to the security team. The alert includes the user's precise location, helping the security team to pinpoint the situation accurately.

We've been working tirelessly to enhance your user experience, and we're thrilled to bring you a range of exciting updates in this latest release.

First up, we've turbocharged the homescreen performance so you can navigate the app faster. We know how important it is to get the information you need as quickly as possible, so we've optimized the homescreen.

We've also made some major improvements to the Profile View. Plus, we've added a new 'Share' option to your Profile, making it easier than ever to connect with your friends and share your achievements.

But that's not all! We're also excited to announce that you can now add your university ID card to your Apple/Android Wallet, making it a breeze to access everything you need while on campus. With this new feature, you'll be able to go about your day without worrying about lost cards or forgotten passes.

Ask any general University questions with the new, improved AskLU. In the feature you can find some suggestions on what types of questions you can ask.

This update includes:


-Monthly view in your timetable. This feature allows you to see your upcoming events through both your weekly view, as well as at a monthly glance.
-Update to announcements, you will now get notified with up to date announcements when you first open iLancaster, you can swipe through these, before being able to dismiss them, opening the home page.
-Within this update you spoke and we listened to all of your feedback, and made adjustments to the running of the app.

Use touch ID or face recognition – go to ‘More’ then ‘Enable Biometrics’ if you want to use touch ID or face recognition to access iLancaster.

Move Discovery Centre off the Quick View home screen – go to ‘More’ then ‘Explore Beta’ to change to access Discovery Centre via the round icon at the bottom of the screen.

See University event listings – added to your Discovery Centre.

Improved Notifications settings – access via the ‘More’ link at the bottom of your screen.

Discovery Centre – the Discovery Centre towards the top of your Quick View home screen links you to important applications and resources. And now you can even:
> Re-order links – (simply press and hold a link, then drag it to where you want);
> Add links – click ‘Explore’ to see other links you can add; and
> Suggest links - that should be included (from ‘Explore’, click the + option)

Timetable – it shows all your teaching events, of course…but there’s so much more. If you have exams or resits you’ll see them in your timetable, along with LibCal bookings too.

Maps – this isn’t just where you get help to find your way around buildings and other locations on campus, it’s also where you see:

Buses – get details of bus stops and bus times (including live times); plus, see favourite buses and bus stops, and add your own!

Outlets – see shops and eating outlets on campus, and get links to more information about them.

Laundry – see launderettes on campus, with details of which washers and dryers are available or in use (and how long until they finish their cycle).

Quick View home screen – this constantly updates to give you the important information you need about your Uni day – for example, if you’re a student who has to check in to teaching events you’ll be able to do that from the Quick View screen when the event starts.
