About SciVR

SciVR allows you to explore our incredible Universe and see how astronomers discover extreme and even unique astronomical events happening right now!

We've added new features that download real data as it happens; such as the Astronomer telegrams and Gravitational Wave events and localisation skymaps. In addition we have added more hotspots in the All Sky Viewer and Solar System scenes as well as the option to read information as you view.

To find out more about this year's live events and the VR headsets head to www.scivr.com.au

An update that is out of this world. We’ve redesigned the interface, updated Solar System graphics (with Jupiter’s Galilean moons to enjoy!) and added new features to tie into the Invisible Universe theme for this year’s National Science Week event. In particular we have added a simplified version of LIGO to detect gravitational waves (as well as GW Maps showing how much sky needs to be searched by telescopes after LIGO ‘hears’ an event), a behind-the-scenes look at the FLEET labs that are creating new low-powered electronics for next generation computing and a comparison between your favourite celestial objects.
