About Set Forth: Phonics
One to Four player cooperative educational game for 4 – 6 year olds.
Children practice their phonics through communication and collaboration, in an overall traditional tale setting.
It supports development of the Early Years Foundation Stage and Key Stage 1.

COMMUNICATION AND LANGUAGE
Set Forth is fundamentally a social game, based on cooperation of a team of up to 4 players, playing face-to-face over a local wifi network. They will work as a team towards a challenging but achievable shared goal, by frequently speaking and listening to each other.
PERSONAL, SOCIAL AND EMOTIONAL DEVELOPMENT
The social interaction while playing will allow children to: practice managing their feelings when they win and lose, to connect to others that are working towards the same goal, and to practice turn-taking.
UNDERSTANDING OF THE WORLD (TECHNOLOGY)
Set Forth gives children the opportunity to use a touchscreen device and interact with an application. This will introduce a range of gestures and concepts that will be transferable from one application to another.
ACTIVE LEARNING
Set Forth is a challenging game that requires focus and concentration. Players will encounter difficulties and experience small setbacks, but also plenty of opportunity to try again and succeed. The game rewards overcoming adversity and the progression towards clear goals, which will support the development of a growth mindset.
