★ The first thing you'll notice is the new name. "3D Drum Kit" is out. Who names an app something boring like "3D Drum Kit", anyway? It's now called "Spotlight Drums" and there's a shiny new icon to go with the new name.
★ The app has been COMPLETELY REBUILT FROM SCRATCH using modern iOS technology. Why? Imagine a 3 year old bowl of spaghetti. That's what the previous code looked like. The rewrite brings a lot of benefits, such as:
★ UNIVERSAL support! Gone are the days of separate iPhone and iPad versions. It's now one app to rule them all.
★ iPhone 5 optimized. Finally!
★ The graphics are now at least 300% less ugly. All 10 drum kits are now beautifully, individually textured. And there is all new stage lighting effects and fog effects.
★ The animations are 200% smoother. (This isn't a joke. The old version was capped at 30 FPS. If you've got a newer device, you'll now get 60 FPS. Nice!)
★ The drum kit sounds are now high-quality 44.1 kHz recordings. A big thank you to Apple for increasing the cellular app size download limit.
★ Perform drum rolls with a swipe of your finger. Why on earth didn't I add this earlier‽
