We think it's awesome, but naturally we're a little bias. Here's what other people have to say:

"Tablo could well be the next Vine or YouTube for writers." - Matt Beechee, Startup Daily

"A superior design aesthetic and a friction-free way to publish" - John Biggs, TechCrunch

"Honestly, Tablo is like Wattpad for cool kids ;)" - Sabrina Bingle

*****

That's pretty much it. We've tried to create the best home in the world for passionate writers and readers. A world of love, mystery, fantasy, horror, discovery and adventure awaits you :)

In this update we've fixed a bug that caused the app to crash on older iOS versions. We've also introduced a dedicated section for classic novels. Thanks for enjoying Tablo, and please think about giving us a rating on the app store. Every review really does help our little app grow!

Welcome to the new Tablo. This update introduces a brand new book browsing interface. We show you opening lines and synopses and a left or right swipe will let you build up a list of books to read. It's an incredibly fun way to browse, and a really effective way to surface new books.

The new Tablo is all about the reading experience. We're curating collections of stories, from great classics to upcoming novels, and sharing them with you for you to enjoy. It's easier than ever to find something new to read.

The browsing and reading interface is all new. You'll barely recognise it, but it still feels Tablo familiar. Book covers are more prominent than ever, interacting with a book is seamless, and there's even a new typeface (It's called Dante. It's lovely.)

This update also brings even more support to the iPad. Most people use Tablo on their phone, but we've designed this new interface from the ground up to suit a bigger screen.

If you like the new Tablo, please give us a quick review and rating on the App Store. We've been working super hard on these new updates, and we can't wait to see what you think :)

Just a minor update, but an important one. We've made a few changes to our discovery feeds. There's more human curation on the homepage now, so you can be sure that the books you discover have been hand picked by a Tablo editor.

Our new Tablo Communities keep getting better and better. Now you can join Kaleidoscope, a space for LGBT+ writers and readers that's lead by the wonderful Tablo user Michelle Rae. Kaleidoscope is one of many new Communities and book clubs on Tablo that you can expect to see over the coming weeks.

We've made a few other fixes in this release. Copy and paste is now working again in the writer (we fixed it, then broke it, then fixed it again). We've also fixed an issue that caused the occasional crash during registration (that was a bad one!)

There's some fancy new support for smaller screen sizes, slicker genre navigation and some new improvements to the way we handle direct links.

That's all for today, but expect more updates soon. If you've been loving Tablo please take a moment to share a review and rating on the app store. It means a lot to us and helps our little app reach even more writers and readers :)

Now when you swipe a notification from a community, or tap a link to a book, it opens directly to that place in the app. Seems like a pretty common feature but it took a lot longer to implement than we expected...

We've also squashed a few bugs, like one that caused the app to crash when you opened a book from a profile, and a book sync issue that may not have saved updates to your book title and synopsis.

We've improved progress syncing too, so reading a book between your phone and the web should now be more seamless than ever.

There's plenty more awesome in the works, so stay tuned! If you've liked using Tablo please do give us a quick rating and review on the app store. It means a lot to us, and really helps our little app grow :)

Happy new year Tabloers! We've wrapped up a few little fixes for you to kick off 2017. The publish page no longer freezes, the writer now handles longer book titles, and Communities see a few minor tweaks to help with navigation.

We have also launched a total of four amazing Tablo Communities, including the State Library Victoria, and a few Tablo-run spaces to help with writer motivation and publishing advice. You should totally join some Communities and start getting involved in discussions.

Thank you for an amazing 2016, and we can't wait to show you more of what we've been working on in the coming months. 2017 is going to be a big year for the reinvention of publishing :)

This update fixes an issue with login and a couple of little bugs with our new Communities product.

______

Welcome to the biggest product evolution in Tablo's history. We've been working hard on this one (and we haven't been working alone!)

This update features Communities, a world-first initiative that allows writers and readers to connect with libraries, publishers or other likeminded people via mini-spaces inside Tablo. We partnered with the State Library Victoria to create this. They came to us a while ago and asked us what libraries would look like in the digital publishing world. The SLV is perhaps the greatest library in the southern hemisphere so we couldn't be more excited about the partnership.

The State Library's Community is launching late-November and we have dozens of great local libraries lined up to help you connect with a space that's local to you. Library Communities will be shared with you based on your location, or you can browse for a Community by tapping on the tab bar at the bottom.

You can also expect Communities for publishers, genres (like LGBT or Science Fiction), and events like NaNoWriMo. We'll be building a space for every key interest group on Tablo. Inside a Community you can create and join discussions, discover events, meet likeminded users, and share your books to seek feedback. It's going to open up so many opportunities for your work and add a whole new dimension to the publishing experience.

Other changes in the app include a completely new navigation structure. A new tab bar means you're only a tap away from Home, Search and Favourites. You can also swipe quickly between different feeds like Emerging and Editor's Choice to make it even easier to find new books. There's a new search screen with genres, and we added a pop of vibration to the write button because that's clearly the most productive use of our time.

Oh, we also enabled copy and paste in the writer. This was undoubtedly our most common request.

Going through every update in this build would take far too long, but trust us, a lot of work went into this. We hope you love Communities as much a we've loved creating them for you. Keep an eye out exciting new writing and reading Communities in the coming months.

If you like Tablo, please, please, please take a moment to leave us a review. It means a lot to us and helps even more people find our little app :)

The first thing you'll notice is our brand new logo. Tablo has come a long way in the last three years and we felt it was time to update our look. The new Tablo logo is an interplay between a heart and a book that represents our love of stories. There's also a new vibrant colour scheme that we hope gives Tablo an even friendlier feel :)

Authors, you can now delete and un-publish the books you've written in the app. Just swipe your book to the left to see the new options. Any change you make here will sync across all of your devices.

Profiles have an updated new look with rich background images and big follow buttons. We hope it makes it easier to learn about and connect with all of the amazing people on Tablo. We're working on a way to update your profile in the app, and you can expect this in the coming weeks.

There are also a load of improvements to things far too boring to talk about, like metadata syncing and direct linking. Overall the app should be faster, sleeker and less buggy.

If you're enjoying Tablo, please think about leaving us a rating or a review on the App Store. We always love hearing about what writers and readers think of our new updates, and every rating really does help our little company grow.

I guess we fell into the trap of proof reading our own work. You know how sometimes you write a sentence, read it 100 times but still never notice the mistake? We did that with code.

This update fixes a bug in search and genre pages :)

We've always believed that, even in this age of fancy computers, the best book recommendations come from real people. That's why we've made something called Collections. They're pretty cool.

Collections are curated lists of books that are hand picked by Tablo. There can be Collections about anything, from short stories to read on a long journey, or inspiring tales of endurance in the face of hardship. We'll curate stories of romances gone wrong, people who win, people who fail, visions of the future or stories of distant worlds.

Collections are a new way of uncovering some of the great stories on Tablo. Every week we'll be creating a new Collection for you to explore. We'll try and introduce you to new authors, new genres and new stories that you might not have normally explored.

You’ll find Collections scattered throughout Tablo. Scroll through Emerging or any of our other main feeds and you’ll see new and interesting Collections appear.

We hope you love them!

Lots of small changes,
And one that you've been asking for.
Now on your iPad,
Don't feel bound to portrait.
Swivel that screen,
Circle your tablet,
And write in landscape.
Portrait is so 2015 and
Everybody loves a haiku.

You know that feeling you get when you write the perfect sentence? We've got that feeling right now. There are a lot of improvements in this update and we feel like we're getting closer and closer to the perfect reading and writing app.

The first big improvement: You can now view book covers in all of their gorgeous glory. Now when you tap on a book the story will pop up in a way that lets you admire the author's full cover. You only need to tap on a book to see how the new cover transition works. Browsing and opening books is now fun, energetic, and it lets you enjoy all of the hard work our authors put into crafting their covers.

Secondly, we've brought the Bookworm score to the app. The Bookworm is a magical score out of 100 that shows you how popular a story is right now on Tablo. It rises and falls as a book is read and shared. Now, any time you open a book on Tablo, we'll show you that book's score. The Bookworm forms the basis of our discovery engine on Tablo, so checking a book's score is a great way to understand how much love it's earned from readers.

The remaining updates are all fairly small, so we'll break them down in rapid dot points:
- We've made it easier to share the books you're reading on Facebook and Twitter
- We've improved the way we handle progress restoration
- We've unified our entire set of icons and graphics to give Tablo a really consistent feel
- We've changed the whole theme of the reader to white in an effort to provide a cleaner reading experience
- There are slightly less bugs than before (but probably still a lot of bugs)

We love that feeling you get when you write the perfect sentence, and we're starting to get that feeling with the app. We have a long way to go, and we're still hearing a lot of great ideas from authors on how to make Tablo better. With these small updates you'll hopefully see how hard we're working to create the perfect home for stories, and we wouldn't be getting this far without your loving support :)

Happy new year Tablo fans! This update was supposed to be out before the holidays but we were delayed, which sucks because we wrote you a really cool Christmas song. We've shared it below anyway.

The main change is that, when you click a link from Twitter or Facebook (or browse for a book on the web), it'll open directly in the app for a super nice reading experience.

We've also introduced a shiny new Emerging feed that shows you the best books right now on Tablo. Emerging updates constantly, so there's always something exciting to read.

Have a great 2016 from Ash, Alex and Laura :)

We couldn't think of an interesting way to say 'we fixed some bugs', so we just got people to tweet us short stories about bugs.

I scurried through a world of giants. "Aren't you afraid?" other bugs asked. No time to answer. Too much freedom to grasp.

That awkward moment when you launch a fancy new app and some people can't log in...

In this update we:
- Resolved an issue with Facebook login that was preventing some people from getting inside Tablo.
- Fixed up an issue that caused the app to crash on some iPads.
- Improved the way we handle conflict resolution for offline writing.

So basically the app is now perfect. Yay!

Are you ready? This is a big update.

You can now write stories in the app. For the first time ever you can write on your iPhone and publish directly to a passionate audience of readers.

Oh, and it also works on an iPad. We've never had native iPad support before. Browsing and writing looks gorgeous on an iPad and we don't know why it's taken us so long. Yay!

Tablo now tailors itself to your interests. It learns what you like to read and shares the stories that we think you'll love. Human curation is a big part of this update. Our editors uncover and promote the best talent on Tablo, so you can trust that the books we recommend are bestsellers in the making.

You can now read and write offline. Read a book on the train; write a story on a plane. Everything you write syncs across all devices, so you'll always have your stories with you wherever you are in the world. It even syncs your reading progress, so you can pick up a story from the exact place you put it down.

We have a new font. Most people won't care, but this kind of stuff obsesses us. It's called Fournier and it's a classic type that dates back to 1742 (did they even have iPhones then?). Its subtle character and natural spacing gives stories a near print-like feel.

Profiles! If you're enjoying a story you can now learn about the author and follow their work.

There are some gorgeous new design touches, like a little chapter progress line that shows you how much more you have to read in an evening before you go to sleep.

There's a new #AmReading feed that lets you quickly jump back into a story. We also show you the story you're currently reading in a little miniplayer, so you can minimize and return to it in a swipe.

There's more stuff, like a better design and a nicer way to browse, but if told you any more we'd sound like we're showing off.

Have fun!

It's a warm, muggy day in the Tablo office. The air-conditioner is moaning in the ceiling; the office plant cries and withers. Across from me a designer is swaying in his desk chair. Left, right, left, right, the rhythm matches the patter of ping pong in the distance.

The person in charge of the office iPod must love Taylor Swift.

Hands on keyboard, I tap away with a flourish of emphasised shortcuts. A pause, I gaze at my iPhone waiting for it to come to life with what could be the final build. It explodes to life. iPhone in hand. Tap, swipe, tap, it jives and moves with every gesture I make. I realise that the bug is gone - the imperfection that was stopping me from releasing an update for the Tablo Reader app.

With rejoice I begin to perform a process etched into my brain. It's a process that, at its end, will share the work we have done with people around the world. The wizard guides me. A progress bar jitters. The air conditioner hits me with an ugly slap of heat.

You've got to love Australian summers.

I rise briefly from my desk to punish the air conditioner control on the wall. I return. The progress bar is edging closer and closer to the end. And then.....success.

TL;DR It's been quite hot and muggy at Tablo HQ. But that won't stop us!

In this version:
• Search. Now you can find anything on Tablo, from themes & genres to specific authors & books.
• Scrolling and browsing is now faster than ever thanks to a few performance & design tweaks.
• …and a whole lot of small, but not insignificant, bug fixes and updates.
