About The Mystery Tree

Delicate watercolor illustrations by Dorothy Keach detail the whimsical decorations which have mysteriously appeared on the tree. Light-hearted themes and appealing animals pair with sweet rhymes to showcase each month. Dorothy's masterful paintings evoke the shifting palette of colors in the Edisto Island skies and marshes as the seasons change.
Candace Keach joins her mother, Dorothy, to write many of the poems and oversee the sound production. Candace, Dorothy and friends provide all the sound effects which are fun and easy for children to imitate! In addition, several of the months inspired Candace and Dorothy to include their own recordings of flute and piano!
