About Travel Treasury

Are you ready to start planning your next adventure?

Travel Treasury is the easiest way to track how much money you’ve set aside for your upcoming travel. We make it easy to see both general and detailed information on savings for your upcoming trip.

The philosophy of this app is to start thinking of budgeting on a daily basis. This means if you have a 10 day trip planned, you should be thinking about how much money you will need per day. Thinking of your budget this way will help you better manage your spending since each day you’ll know how much of your planned budget you spent. For example if you estimate you’ll need $75 per day, at the end of each day you’ll know if you spent more or less than that number.

The alternative way of budgeting is to think of the total trip cost. It’s much easier to break your budget this way because durning the earlier days of the trip you still have plenty of money left and you don’t really know if you’re overspending. For our 10 day trip with a $75 daily budget the total trip budget would be $750. So imagine on the first day you spend $100, that would mean you still have $650 left. Most would think “I still have $650, I still have plenty of money” but if you keep spending like you did on the first day you won’t have enough for the whole trip.

Here is how the app works to help you budget:

1. First, create a trip by selecting the location, dates, travel method, and estimated daily budget.

2. Once your trip is created you can start logging savings towards that trip. The detailed stats will let you know how much more money you need and what you can expect for your current daily budget.

3. When your trip arrives have the peace of mind that you planned your expenses, leaving you solely to enjoy the adventure.
