TrekRight: Lycian Way

Hey everyone! Managing your route in TrekRight just got much easier, with lots of great enhancements to make it easier to make changes, to see what your options are, and more, including:
- You can edit your route on the map now.
- You can tap on any 'branch point' icon to see what route variants are available from that junction.
- You can tap on any white arrowhead along your route to see how far it is to that location in your current stage. The arrowheads also indicate which direction you are walking at that location.
- It's now much easier to modify your stage breaks. Just drag them up/down on the route details screen.
- The appearance of the route details screen is more appealing and more informative.
- Tap on any branch in the route details screen or on any branch point on the map screen to see a pop-up showing lots of details about that branch, what other branches are available at that location, plus there are options for viewing its elevation chart, viewing it on the map, opening its details screen in the Trekopedia, inserting new branches, or deleting the branch from your route.
- When editing your route, you can now shake your phone to undo changes you've made.
- And more! There's lots of little details for you to discover.

Plus, of course, there are lots of updates to our trail content.

This update fixes an annoying bug that was cutting off text when viewing 'details' screens. There's also been extensive updates throughout our Lycian Way content (especially for descriptions and waypoints of trail sections).

IMPORTANT:
This update includes a critical change in our database format which requires all 'user data' (routes, added notes, flagged items, etc.) to be cleared. Also, any backups from prior to this version can't be restored. Sorry for the inconvenience on this! We rarely have breaking changes like this but this one couldn't be avoided.

If you are updating the app then all existing routes in the dataset will appear as 'broken' (you'll see lots of 'gap in route' rows in the route's details). Please re-create your desired route or do a clean re-install of the app (a clean re-install will also restore all of the pre-defined routes for you). If you have any problems setting up your route, let us know and we can assist.

- New, more attractive and helpful map icons.
- Many content updates and additions (including a new optional coastal route from Faralya to Kabak Beach).
- Support for local languages in the interface (buttons, labels, and so on) - note, though, that the trail content itself is still only in English. Currently, Ukrainian and Russian have been implemented. More to come!

Bug-fixing to address a crash that can sometimes occur in the Maps module.

In the Routes module, you can now duplicate any existing route to use as a 'starting point' when creating your own custom version. To create a duplicate, simply open up the Route Summary screen for that route (just tap on its name in the Routes listing) and then press 'Duplicate' in the upper-right corner. A duplicate will be created and TrekRight will switch the view to it automatically.

--- New ---
TrekRight now supports iOS's Spotlight search feature. Now, when you do a Spotlight search on your iPhone it will include results from TrekRight's content. This is really handy when you want to quickly look something up -- you can usually find it faster via Spotlight than you could inside TrekRight itself! Once you've found what you are looking for, just tap on it to open the item in TrekRight. For example, type "Community Fethiye" and you'll see it listed for easy access.

This works even if TrekRight isn't running and it works entirely offline!

If you haven't used Spotlight yet, you're missing out on one of iOS's best features - to activate Spotlight, just swipe downwards from near the top of your screen. Note, for Spotlight searches to work with TrekRight you need an iPhone 5 or later, plus iOS 9 or later.

Both metric & imperial distances are now supported. For all computed values, TrekRight will now display the distances in the same measurement system as defined in the 'Region' setting of your phone. For example, if your phone's region is set to 'United States', you'll see miles and feet. If set to 'France', you'll see kilometres and metres. If you want the values shown differently while on the trail, just change your 'Region' setting.

For values in the written text, we've begun converting all values to display in both metric and imperial. This will likely take us a little while though.

When you follow a link to something outside of TrekRight (a website, tapping a phone number, tapping an address, and so on), the other app will include a return link to TrekRight. It is no longer necessary to re-start TrekRight to return to where you were.

--- Improved ---
Links between content items now have a distinct blue dot before the name to make them stand out better. Links that go to the web, on the other hand, will not have those blue dots. In addition to making it easier to spot our internal links, the blue dot also makes it clear which links are local (thus not requiring any Internet access / data usage) and which are external.

Notes are now displayed much better in any Notes Listing. Now, the name of the item to which the note is associated is listed along with when the note was created and the first line of its text. This saves you from having to open the note to find out what item it belongs to. Tip: when reading a note, if you ever want to open up the item that the note belongs to then just tap on the little icon at the bottom-center of the screen.

This major release adds significant functionality to TrekRight, fixes a few bugs, and includes updates on much of the content.

We strongly recommend everyone update to this new version.

# NEW: Bi-directional routes
Full support for bi-directional routes. You can now select / create routes that are east-to-west or west-to-east. The walking directions, elevation charts, 'intelligent' compass, and other directional content / functionality are updated automatically to reflect the chosen direction.

# NEW: Pre-defined 'reversed' routes
We're created pre-defined routes that go east-to-west (matching our existing west-to-east versions). These routes have walking directions that are specific to the westward direction. Note: 'routes' in TrekRight are treated as user data. If you are updating an existing installation of TrekRight, you won't see the new pre-defined routes (they are only available in a new installation). However, you can easily create them yourself inside the Routes module. Alternatively, if you do not have any notes or other user data added to your existing installation, you can delete TrekRight and re-install it from the App Store -- that will give you all the pre-defined routes.

# NEW: Better offline maps
Fully updated offline maps, including much greater scope of coverage. These are our best maps yet!

# IMPROVED: Built-in maps
Offline maps are now built-in to the app. It is no longer necessary to download them separately after installing the app.

# CONTENT: Full Spring update
Almost every item in the Lycian Way content has been updated as part of our usual Spring overhaul, including adding new accommodations and waypoints. Walking directions have also been fully overhauled to support the new bi-directional routes feature. Stay tuned for more updates throughout the spring. You can force TrekRight to check for any available updates via the 'Update Content' menu option.
