3.14.3
Jul 5, 2020
- If your business is using Vista Cinema, version 5.0.7, you can now split checks in Serve. When enabled, you can split ordered items based on allocated seats. It’s easy to add new items or move items between split checks. You can also assign different credit cards to each split.
- If your business is using Vista Cinema, version 5.0.8, you can now enable manual hold and fire options. You can choose to add only manual fire, or to add both manual hold and fire options.
- Serve now supports Loyalty-exclusive discounts and member-only items.
- You can also apply Loyalty recognitions set up with a Price Type of None.
- We’ve made it possible for waitstaff to add manual discounts according to their user group permissions.
- Your waitstaff can now apply a filter so that only their checks are visible in Serve. This functionality is based on a user’s security permissions.
- You can now configure your workstation or table layout profiles to limit what screens are available in Serve. If you have both dine-in and traditional screens at your site, you can hide all screens where service isn’t required.
- We’ve added extra messaging to remind users to keep Serve open during payment flows.
- We’ve refreshed the look and feel of the sign-in screen.
- We’ve also fixed a few minor performance issues.
3.12.2
Mar 23, 2020
- We’ve enhanced Serve’s integration with Loyalty so waitstaff can provide more personalised service. When you add a member to a check, you’ll now see their points balance, their number of visits in the last 6 months, and their average spend band as configured in the system settings.
- You can now add or remove members from checks at any time, provided they haven’t already redeemed rewards.
- We’ve made Serve more intuitive – if an item only has one modifier then Serve will skip straight to the modifier options.
- If your business is using Vista Cinema, version 5.0.6, independently routed modifiers are now supported on Serve.
- Your waitstaff can now search for items, saving valuable time during training or for less common requests.
- We’ve made Serve’s connection settings more robust. You now need a manager’s approval to change this configuration.
- We’ve enhanced our logging capabilities for payment failures.
- We’ve upgraded our iOS/TriPOS SDK integration to version 1.6.
- We’ve fixed an issue so that you no longer lose partial payments when adding additional items to a check. To implement this fix, upgrade to Sales Server 5.0.5.14 (or later) or 5.0.6.3 (or later). We still support earlier versions of Sales Server, but you won’t be able to add additional items to checks that have partial payments.
- We’ve also fixed a few minor performance issues.

What’s new:

- If your business is using Vista Cinema, version 5.0.5, deal-type promotions are now available on Serve! When waitstaff add items to an order that is part of a deal, the deal will automatically be applied. Your guest’s savings will also be displayed on Serve.
- Your waitstaff can now add Loyalty members to checks using a guest’s name, email, phone number, or Loyalty card number.
- Serve supports partial payments. When it’s time to settle the bill, guests that are part of a group can split the payment between themselves and opt to pay for as much of the check as they’d like. This feature supports all current payment methods.
- Serve also supports user number-only sign in when a Serve workstation is authorised through Workstation Binding.
- Serve’s integration with Staff Clock ensures your waitstaff are clocked on to their shift before signing into Serve.
- We’ve also fixed up a few minor issues to streamline the order process.

• You now have the option to choose how checks are filtered and displayed on Serve. You can now choose whether your waitstaff see everyone’s checks or just their own.
• We've also fixed a few minor issues that affected item configuration and payment settings:
- Now, a message prompts you to check if your cinema has created child items and configured them to Allow Remote Sales.
- Payment settings that have already been confirmed are retained after an upgrade.
