About Welsh Verb Blitz
Learn and practise Welsh verbs with this interactive verb reference and drill tool. With over 150 core verbs presented across tenses in both positive and negative paradigms, Welsh Verb Blitz is a clear and effective way to refresh and revise beginner's grammar, as well as expand your everyday vocabulary.
As well as a handy verb reference section where you can read and hear the Welsh conjugations (internet connection required for narration), there is plenty of practice provided with a set of intensive verb drill activities to quiz your conjugation knowledge. Activities include:
- Infinitive quiz: do you know the meaning of the each verb?
- Conjugation quiz: can you select the correct verb form for the English translation?
- Snap quiz: can you spot when the Welsh and English sentences match? Try to get ten in a row!
- Gapfill: can you spell out the missing word in the conjugated sentence?
In the settings, you can select which tenses to drill in the games. So whether you are a complete beginner, or already a little way along your journey to Welsh mastery, there is a level for you!
The app will track your scores throughout the games, so you can check in the Performance section at any time to see the entries you're finding trickiest.
The verbs selected represent some of the most commonly used Welsh words, so Welsh Verb Blitz is a great way to increase and practise your core, everyday vocabulary.

In the settings section, you’ll find sliders to adjust the speed of the multichoice and snap games. Speed them up for a challenge, or slow them right down to revise at leisure. It’s your call! Also, when playing the games, there is now the option to select the set “10 Essential Verbs” to focus on, so you can really blitz those fundamentals. We hope you enjoy the update. Happy learning!

This update corrects an issue on some iOS versions where the Infinitive Quiz failed to start properly. Thanks to the user who spotted and reported that bug. We've also added a few seconds to the multichoice quiz timer while we work on a custom option for that in the settings. We like a challenge, but ten seconds was maybe a little too stingy for some of the more demanding tenses! Happy learning!
