About Xipcode
Xipcode is a next level location app.
OK, but why did we develop it, you say, when there are a bunch of apps out there that do that already?
Good question. Well, we used all of them and we felt there were some really important and useful features they just didn’t have. So, Xipcode does.
Of course, with Xipcode, you can find & share exact locations QUICKLY and EASILY.
That might be where you are now, it might be somewhere on the other side of the world, it might be where your next holiday is going to be, or business appointment (and so on).
But here’s the difference with Xipcode…
• Want to give the location a recognisable name rather than weird numbers or random words? Something anyone can easily remember or even say over the phone. We wanted that too, so all Xipcodes look like this: xipco.de/Fred/tent – ‘Fred’ is whatever username you choose, and ‘tent’ is, er, your tent (or office, or favourite pub, or hard-to-find dog walk etc)
• Want to move your xipcode? So, you pitched your tent near a stream and told your mates where to find you, but the stream became a river overnight, so now you need to move it. Simple. You just edit the location by touching the Xipcode map and voila! Your friends still see xipco.de/Fred/tent, but now it points to your new place and you didn’t need to contact them all over again! Works for when Fred moves his office too, xipco.de/Fred/office.
• Want to let people find directions to your location using their own favourite app, be that Google or Apple Maps, Waze etc or even Uber? Easy. When you send the Xipcode (via email, text, WhatsApp or however) the other person only has to click on the Xipcode and they are beautifully transported to a dedicated Xipmap (see what we did there?) that not only shows the exact spot (including Street View option), but can also show a picture and, with one more click, launch their own favourite navigation app to show how to get there! And no, they don’t need to have the app for this all to work.
That’s it.
We’re not going to tell you any more. We’ll just let you find your own way, with Xipcode.
