Sarcopenia is the leading cause of most chronic disease, falling and disability that occurs as we age. Ever heard of it? If you’re like most people odds are you probably haven’t but you’ve probably heard of its ugly cousin Osteoporosis. Simply put, Sarcopenia is to the muscle what Osteoporosis is to the bone. You see, as we age we typically lose about 30% of our muscle and associated strength between ages 45 and 65. Then the strength losses accelerates. If you don’t do anything to stop it, you will lose up to another 30% of your muscle and strength each decade after 65 years of age. To put that in perspective, if those same losses occurred with your bones you would literally cease to have a skeletal frame!

You’ve probably never looked at it quite this way, but the reality is that much of the root cause of pain, inactivity, falls and disease in aging is actually Sarcopenia. The good news is that the same science that has confirmed that it’s occurring in everyone also shows that it is preventable and reversible through specific lifestyle choices. * Work with your LifeStrength Coach at Vitality Health to set up your custom trackers - the things that you are most interested improving.

* Tap into our Choose How You Age Community to share your journey, advice and support with others!

* Now you have a direct link with your health professional that allows you to communicate with them “real-time” even when you are outside of your community VitalityHealth Center.
