About Dots For Peace
Dots For Peace is the FANTASTIC new dot-to-dot puzzle app.
I've taken the very essence of dot-to-dot, and made it available on your iPhone and iPad!
It's all about creativity and mindfulness - finding and connecting the dots to slowly uncover the image hidden inside... but DFP takes it one huge step forward and lets you create your very own puzzles from any picture, illustration or sketch in your photo library - and very soon you'll be able to grab a live video still and generate amazing dot-to-dot puzzles from that too!
It's so easy to use you'll probably want to have a little cry afterwards...
To play a puzzle you load it up in the app, double-tap and drag from any point (dot) to make a connecting line. Releasing over another point in the puzzle anchors the line, and ... hey Preston: Le puzzle doth begat!
[For those without a latin degree: "The puzzle has started!"]
To build a puzzle simply tap the menu button, chose "Puzzle Builder", select an image on the capture screen, use the filters to get it just right (ideally you want some nice continuous lines for the best results) and - when you're ready - tap to generate!
The app is full to popping with great features too:
- If you get stuck find your desired point by number using the 'find' tool
- Export puzzles as pictures to your library and as PDF documents and interactive files for other app users via email
- Give custom puzzles a description and a link to find you on social media
- Various detail levels available in the generator, so you can make puzzle for all abilities
- A wonderfully simple UI which is pure joy to use
There's so much more to come, including a more 'intelligent' line scanner to make better custom puzzles, and a colouring-in option for the more adventurous!
