About Finnish Verb Blitz
Learn and practise Finnish verbs with this interactive verb reference and drill tool. With over a hundred core verbs presented in the present, past and conditional, in both positive and negative paradigms, Finnish Verb Blitz is a clear and effective way to refresh and revise beginner's grammar, as well as expand your everyday vocabulary.
As well as a tap-to-listen verb reference, there is plenty of practice provided with a set of intensive verb drill activities to quiz your conjugation knowledge. Activities include:
- Infinitive quiz: do you know the meaning of the each verb?
- Conjugation quiz: can you select the correct verb form for the English translation?
- Snap quiz: can you spot when the Finnish and English sentences match? Try to get ten in a row!
- Gapfill: can you spell out the missing word in the conjugated sentence?
In the settings, you can select which tenses to drill in the games. So whether you are a complete beginner, or already a little way along your journey to Finnish mastery, there is a level for you!
The app will track your scores throughout the games, so you can check in the Performance section at any time to see the entries you're finding trickiest.
The verbs selected represent some of the most commonly used Finnish words, so Finnish Verb Blitz is a great way to increase and practise your core, everyday vocabulary.

Some lovely new features for Suomi fans in this update. First of all, you can now change the speed of the timed games (infinitive / conjugation / snap quiz) in the settings section. Play at your leisure or at a rate of knots, it's up to you! Also, you can now choose to play the games with the set "10 Essential Verbs" to hammer those basics. Finally, we've added a few new verbs to the bank too, just to squeeze every last drop out of this update! We hope you enjoy it. Happy learning!

This update corrects an issue on some iOS versions where the Infinitive Quiz failed to start properly. Thanks to the user who spotted and reported that bug. We've also added a few seconds to the multichoice quiz timer while we work on a custom option for that in the settings. We like a challenge, but ten seconds was maybe a little too stingy for some of the more demanding tenses! Happy learning!
